Unpopular as it may seem I think an awful lot of posties up and down the land are full of s**t.

The opposition to trolleys appears to be based not on their speed or efficiency but on a desire to appear less girly.
Time and time again we hear "packets are through the roof, yet apparently they can all fit in a pouch and nobody needs to use a trolley.
Some appear to think there is a direct relation between how big the pouch is on their back and the perceived size of their penis.

Or because the management say we cannot pay that amount and you did it before did you not just don't use the trolleys you will be all right it's a light day!.

I think you would need to define success.
Ours was not a success in as much as the duties could not be achieved using the methods and could without but the majority stuck with it and 5 duties had to be reinstated.
That was a success.

Making it work without the methods would have been a...failure.

Spot on, and this is what suprises me. How can an office of the size I am working in get away with ignoring compliance with the methods we are supposed to be using? Nearly two years after revision the day to day task is being completed but not the way it should be. Whose fault is that? It's ours. Everyone should have stuck to the way we were told to do things. We have shot ourselves in our collective feet by short circuiting the system in an effort to do it better. I have worked in offices still yet to do the revision and have suggested to people that they need to do things exactly as they are told to do them and to stick to their guns. Pretending things are working and cutting corners will do nothing but lose jobs, it's that simple. The more you stretch to make things happen in less time the more will be expected from less people. Listen up and do it the way you are expected to do it even if you don't like it. Cutting corners is a recipe for cutting jobs.

Im a newbie and I was thrown in with 2 new walks with an experienced postie. We got back at 3 which apparently was an.hour over what he has been getting back at,basically because he had to show me where to.go etc. Park and Loop is only 2 weeks old but all posties arnt really losing time and getting back for 2. We only used our trolley once and that was because we needed an extra bag for parcels.

There are a few who don't like trolleys as they seem less manly but the majority of opposition is because they are slower than carrying a bag. With a bag on the back you walk directly from delivery point to delivery point using the shortest available route. With a trolley you go from delivery point, back to trolley and then to the next delivery point. Kerbs and obstacles such as street furniture and parked cars are slower to negotiate with a trolley.

And I say this as as postie who has been using trolleys for around 15 years - I couldn't give two sh***s about being seen to use one. I prefer it but it is slower.

In fact - I prefer it because it is slower
