Re: How are the National Talks progressing ?
Well to be fair to Royal Mail the farce that have made of delivery best praticise there is little chance they will come anywhere near making anyone in delivery complusory redundant as they simply cannot introduce a successful delivery method revision without down dialing the level of savings they wish.
In any other complany the people responsible for the delivery best praticise policy would be shown the door but not in Royal Mail , they try and overlay the chaos with more farce like the inward flow system , the hot house revision process and of course to top it all an upper decile process which no one knows the details off.

I don't think they know the details of that one yet so to be fair to them it's not their fault they're not letting us in on it.
To be honest i don't think they've padded it out beyond the name.
I think someone was at the mini-bar that day.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

That just about sums it up for me dingo. Nothing highlights the great divide than the fact the union is prepared to compromise on such an important issue as no compulsory redundancies. It's my opinion that London uses the national union and its finances - provided by us all I might add, to fight its own case without any shred of conscience and has the gall to ask for NATIONAL support yet again to fight its own little corner.dingo wrote:Now Dvbuk the no complusory redundnacies committment was for the London Mail Closure programme only and whilst it is the aim of the CWU to get that throughout the reality is it only applies to the London Mail Centre clousres. It does not apply to the London Delivery Offices or anyother offices.

Re: How are the National Talks progressing ?
I think were getting a little off subject here...
so I'll ask again, Are we going to get an Update from CWU HQ about what has been happening in the talks ?
Anyone have any info as to which way they're going, and also someone mentioned that the 16th Jan. was D day for RM to get serious

The PEC will be meeting on the 18th apparently to sum up the current state of negotiations - I presume it will be a national statement for ALL the union members.dvbuk55 wrote:That just about sums it up for me dingo. Re: How are the National Talks progressing ?
.........In regards to the date of the 16th January there is a joint divisional and pec meeting next Monday. All divisional reps have to do a report on their division and there is now a pro forma which details information on units which has to be completed by Monday.
The reality is that Royal Mail's business plan is not working and needs to be changed. Through Negotations or a row.
Is there any update on this meeting Dingo??

2 different mettings Woofwoof Joint Div/PEC 16/1/12 .......Special PEC meeting 18/1/12 do u r homework

Finally, as reported in other PEC documents, the Union will need to increase the frequency of our communications to representatives and members and carry though, as a matter or urgency, a review of communications and the funding for this with the appropriate departments.

I don't think you're likely to hear much about meeting 1 until meeting 2 has taken place Glenno.

Re: How are the National Talks progressing ?
The purpose of yesterday's meeting was for the divisional reps to have an update and for them to supplement the reports they sent to CWU HQs giving an update on the BT2010 agreement within their divisions. these reports have all been sent to the PEC for their views.
There was some progress made on deliveries last week with ACAS involvement there is a further meeting this Thursday where Royal Mail must agree words on resolving the 100BSI issues and the flow proposals. Knowing the Royal Mail director who is in the talks and who he has backing him I doubt this will happen but that is the timescales.
Cameron has comeback to Terry Pullinger and his proposal in changing the Mail Centre closure section of the agreement and there was an exchange of emails between Dave and Moya over the weekend and a conference call yesterday.
What does this all mean ? Well the Postal Executive if I was to hazard a guess would be that some progress has been made in certain areas and that the postal executive decision should be to await the Thursday delivery meeting to see if what Royal Mail agreed last week is still their position a week later.
Just my opinion.

Re: How are the National Talks progressing ?
I think after 18months of stalling, backtracking, spin, broken promises and blatant lies it might be time to measure progress by what Royal Mail does not what Royal Mail say they are going to do.
I don't know about your place dingo but up here they are taking the piss.
This sounds like more stalling by both sides to me.
Just my opinion.

Re: How are the National Talks progressing ?
Whilst the chattering goes on Royal Mail are moving on apace with World Class Mail. I believe there was a meeting in Leeds yesterday, to outline moving forward - just wonder if the CWU had any representatives there. Makes me think of the Japanese Ambassador talking peace in Washington whilst bombing Pearl Harbour. We could definitely do with comprehensive guidelines and some sort of timescale for the various modernisation programmes.
