Nice to see the sun living up to its normal reputation for well researched and non sensational journalism when writing the story :chuckle

Well that was good... Drawing sympathy on the post problem rather than the complete disarray of the recruitment process. So much for interest in our story.

Guess Facebook took up all your time eh?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

ERINGS wrote:Like Leonard69 I left Angard as I was no longer preared to accept being lied to, not just by Angard, but by Royal Mail managers as well.

In the weeks that followed I have probably been labelled as something unrepeatable by management in Angard and Royal Mail.

The point made by Leonard69 about the number us that actually contacted the journalists is perfectly valid and well made, yes it is disappointing that more did not respond.

But if those that did make contact with the press manage to achieve an improvement in the current appalling situation, every Angard Casual will benefit.

Leonard69 is right, every person should carefully consider their actions before deciding how to proceed.

No-one should feel forced into doing something that they disagree with.

But simply accepting what Angard and Royal Mail do to thousands of people each week, and for those people to feel that "there is nothing we can do", is a perfect example of people being "forced" by the "big boys" to accept something they disagree with, but feel powerless to do anything about.

But everyone should remember what is being done each week with each payroll, is not just wrong it is illegal and cannot be accepted, that is what Angard wants you do, just accept it and give in.

Like Leonard69 I urge people to think carefully and consider their actions, "do you want to be treated like this again and again", think about it.

But does not the potential headline "Thousands of Temporary Employees Not Paid by Royal Mail at Xmas" sound interesting, I think it would cause a great deal of "embaressment" for the somebodies. Particularly as they have only just posted an apology on their website for the recent online overcharging of customers.

Good luck to everyone in getting what you have earned.
I don't disagree with you Erings. I am still owed one week's pay and SSP which, surprse, surprise I didn't get paid although i had been paid for the 2 prevous weeks. I will give them one month to pay and then instigate ET1 action though I am more inclined to go through the County Court as that way I should be able to recover costs as well. A strike however would be illegal under current legislation (no negotiation, no ballot) whereas a protest demonstration could happen outside, but off, RM premises and they'd not be able to do anything about it. If partners and kids of casuals did it they wouldn't even be able to identify the casuals in question and sack them!!

An ET1 is the way to go, there are no upfront costs. You file it and it can be withdrawn at any time

Completely agree, I'm on Nina's side... sick of people moaning on here and not actually doing anything about how they're being treated.
Fair enough the story in the Sun today isn't great... but like you said, the story has to gather momentum etc.
I'm quite disappointed about the Guardian not running the story today, but I'm sure there is an explanation.
