CWU officials pay structure

Have been following this topic with interest as it appears their is little consistency in the way the cwu reps are elected, re-elected or how you can get yourself or others put up for election as my experience has been its like hurdles race with your ankles tied. Just out of interest if you are for example on a casual contract or short term contract with RM or Angard and a cwu member do the same rules for section apply?

Each CWU member is allocated to a Branch and therefore they are entitled to stand for the jobs which come come up. Obviously if they stand for a local reps postion they should be a member within the unit and i have known fixed term contracts being reps. At the end of the day if there are more than one candidate there is a ballot of the members which is as fair as you can get.
