i think the powers that be trying to retake any gains working people have made since the war
very dated, but theres no sign of the bastards backing off.

Joe public dont like strikes etc is just another reactionary message whipped up and gamma rayed through
every television on a regular basis, throw enough mud and it sticks.

At least with the union invovlment (a yes vote) we have some say on our future, the problem is the people who are doing the negotiation on our behalfs. I just have no confidence in them at all, I feel they are completely out of touch with the reality of what it's like to be a postman doing all different aspects of the job.
I've know for many years that Royal Mail dont have a clue what it's like to do the job but I always thought the union had a good idea but after this last agreement I dont think that's so. I know the CWU will say they've made agreements to protect job security etc but what about the working conditions of the people who work there? Posties going out on delivery for 5 hours or more, increased weight despite the claim mail volume is dropping off bullying still going on. I would like to know the last time any of the negotiating team spend any lenght of time in a delivery office or a mail centre, I think it would be a good idea if they spent a week or maybe 2 in various delivery offices and mail centres so they got a recent first hand feel of what it's like to do the job.
"At least with the union invovlment (a yes vote) we have some say on our future" - but if there's a 'yes' vote for that reason, negotiations break down, the CWU calls us out on strike, then there's little actual support for industrial action because everyone remembers what happened last time, then surely we are no better than if there had been a 'no' vote.
 Yes, damned of you do and all that! Think the Union high bods have to think of another line of attack---

Everybody seems to agree we have far worse Terms and conditions especialy workload than 2009,this was all agreed to and worked in offices with full CWU agreement .This is what we went on strike for .

Based on the above Do you trust the cwu to get us another deal ,that will help us .
And lets not Forget Brendan Barber role TUC leader and deal maker ,never done a proper days work in his life ,a Acedemic!.

Do something and dont let RM walk over us but a simple question
based on the 2009 strike and the deal of the century do you belive the cwu will help the whole country or just LONDON ?

i know what side i would bet my money !

WE might be in it together, BUT those two so called union leaders ain't. None of the striking affects them whatsoever. They never lose any pay, and then end up agreeing with management anyway. They need to be replaced. It's the reason we never get the agreement that WE want. :evil/mad :dcfo :ncfo

Well if RM could choose when the CWU called a strike they couldn't have timed it better, summer holidays, less mail, fewer D2Ds........brilliant strategy. Reminds me of a Sandie Shaw hit from the 60s.

I think they should as they were totally out manoeuvred by RM within the media last time.

I for 1 will be striking, if there is a ballot and a yes vote is returned. Too many peeps fail to back the union, then moan like hell when things happen they don't like. At least by striking you have made a stand! :mad
