I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

What happens to your cover when you work your day off or are you a reserve anyway?creedscat wrote:What happens if you lose your job??? Works both ways really. so what happens if the OT dries up?
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

sorry but although i think taking a stance and not taking overtime will show them, ppl like me have no choice. your on 20 hours a week. you have a mortgage. you have a baby. the 20 hours doesnt even cover the essentials. and millions of people are in the same situation. sure it would be great to see them cope with no one doing o/t. but your asking lots and lots of people to lsoe everything.fishtank wrote:Aprilaydee wrote:Some people can't afford to not work overtime or their days off so asking them to do it day in, day out, isn't feasible.coxie wrote:should be doing that anyway, why say for 2 weeks only? are you not man enough to do it day in day out?
No-one should need to work overtime to pay for the essentials...luxuries can be sacrificed.
If you need overtime to live you are walking a tightrope wearing a blindfold in a thunderstorm and you will fall off.

Apart from taking meal relief, i do all the rest. Unfortunately working right through is the only way i can make a nursery pick up for 1 oclock, then the days she's not there, i'm just in the habit of working right through.
