I do not understand the hole in my argument.
My argument is: All work undertaken in RM operations will now be measured. Employees working X hours will get paid Y.

Even if the few in deliveries were excluded from the supplement, it would increase the allowance by a tiny fraction to the rest. Remember, the supplement is not for D2D, it is just a payment for those in deliveries. The argument is also ridiculous because why don't drivers and phg's who sort and deliver specials get paid a special delivery payment because specials are only handled by them. What a load of pish!
Sounds like a case of sour grapes to me.
Are you telling me you think only drivers and phg's handle specials? who gets them signed for then? Who stands in a locker queue every day for ages to sign for them? opg, that's who.

We both know certain areas don't,and will not do,d2d but they are getting money for them. You can say it's not a d2d supplement till you're blue in the face but you know it and I know it.

Answer me this. If a guy does 400 drops and works 40 hours, should he not get paid the same as a guy doing 700 drops who works 40 hours? Why does this not extend to a phg doing 40 hours and you doing 40 hours? There is nothing special about D2D that makes them stand out for payment once they are in measured work. It is not the same as those getting allowances for driving a big truck or a night shift duties. They are just leaflets. They are awkward, but so what? PHGs have to deal with stroppy customers all the time so should they get an allowance for that?

In terms od PHG's getting stroppy customers,(and I am probably straying off the subject). It is us that accepted earlier closing times for callers offices.

Are you sure you work on delivery?

I'd take a stroppy customer over falling on my arse in arctic December conditions carrying 20k on my back any day of the week.

If you drive a van you deserve the extra for taking the insurance risk,if you work nights you deserve the unsociable hour pay,if you deliver d2d you deserve to be paid for them.

If you do none of the above, then you don't.

Don't keep telling people the've got a great deal when clearly they haven't then. :arrrghhh

Let's just end this myth that it's a tiny minority who are losers here. All d2d payments are held on computor for the last year,we ran through our claims to find exactly what we earned and would have lost if supplement had existed last year, the massive majority would have lost hundreds of pounds. I would suggest these results would be typical for most delivery offices.
Three d2d in our loading bay now for next week which add up to >8p a door x 600 + 20% for Monday holiday= nearly £60 :nana replaced by £8,yeah good deal.

If i wanted anything from this agreement it was a limit on delivery spans, take a good look at Dave Ward and Billy Hayes.......it's pretty obvious they don't take their own health seriously and they certainly don't give a s**t about ours. I see older boys who struggle now,i wouldn't want to be the one to tell them their rounds are increasing by two hours, cause that's where we're heading. We all get old eventually and it would be nice to enjoy a few good years after Royal Mail without work related ailments.

If you've done well out the deal or are happy with it,fine, but thousands of us have come out of it very badly and have no reason to welcome it!

Begging your pardon ,I do ,and so do the others in my office who don't come in early ,or cut their meal relief,or step,or use their cars, or bung the mis-sorts back in the front box.

So where do we stand?

Mate, all I wanted out of this deal was fair and equal workloads,no bullying and no harassment.I wasn't looking for a pay rise, but on the other hand I sure as hell wasn't looking for a pay cut!

In this climate I see no option but to stick it out,but for the love of God,don't try to sell me shite and tell me it's sugar.

Belial, just to point out that judging by this this forum it should of been a dead set "No" vote. However lots did not vote,and...sad to say it,this site was not reflected amongst our workforce. Therefore our "work with the tools given" was also not reflcted either. If you work to that...I am afraid we are a minority.

I totally take your point but what are the other options? Delivery spans can stay small but that will mean part time hours. That option will be there for those that want it.
Are you saying RM shouldn't use the WSM? That would be like telling a company using motor vehicles to go back to horse and cart.
I agree that if offices steamed ahead with 10 hour duties, 6 hour+ walks, there may well be health and safety consequences. The main point is that the union will be there negotiating these changes.
