pickaname, when you say 20mins...what percentage of the items are you prepping out of interest?

On a 600+ delivery it would take me 45 - 60 mins to prep 3 items into the entire empty frame. 6 items in my opinion would be double the time. The planners (spanners more like) can talk about planning values and all this bull till the cows come home....in the real world prepping twice as many leaflets takes twice as long...FACT!
Im prepping 2 vertical fittings of the frame out of 8 per day. Floater doesnt do any. 700 drops in total for whole duty. This takes me an average of 20mins sometimes more, sometimes less depending on size and shape of item.

First thing i do when i get in.

Correct me if Im wrong but if 1/6th of the d2d with 6 items takes 14mins, it is the same as 1 item for the whole of the walk? So theyre saying 1 item at 100% call rate should take 14mins to prep? How is this humanly possible?

So around 1 hour 20 mins for the entire frame. That sounds about right mate. for a 600+ delivery...like I say, 3 awkward items can be 1 hour for the entire fitting. How the hell can they say the more contracts you have to prep the less time it takes....taking this to it's logical conclusion...12 contracts would be about 24 mins per day! :arrrghhh You know these new machines they've spent all this money on....they're not blue and telephone kiosk shaped are they by any chance?

Don't worry, this is a RM idea.
I'm sure that the Billy and Dave will stand up to Royal Mail, just like they did concerning longer saturday's , CDV's , mail centre closures.....

Look, planners are just...planners! They are "seconded" DOMS who will have to find "other positions" when they finish planning as their original positions have gone. They were told to come up with different scenarios based on?......Thats right...Budget!!

This was done without the reps involved. Therefore it is un-agreed!

In the old days your rep agreed a budget and used a pencil and paper to plan the walks, and everyone was,(in the main),ok with it. Once the reps learn and understand the system they will be best to know what is practicle and is not.

Once "they" open the "box",(for the first time EVER),as agreed by the independant parties,we shall see. Already there is common sense to one of their "scenarios" from you posters already.

Lets see what the vote is as I know that there are a number of reps chomping at the bit to get started on this software, for the first time ever I might add.

This is not a game drb it is members terms and conditions.
Reps may well be "chomping at the bit" to play with this software but members are certainly not "chomping at the bit" to deal with the consequences. :hmmmm

1 contract 4 mins per day

2 contracts 8 mins per day

3 contracts 10 mins per day

4 contracts 11 mins per day

5 contracts 12 mins per day

6 contracts 14 mins per day

6 boxes under my frame and I keep rolling along

nowhere to sit got nowhere to stand
6th D2D in, got RSI in my hand,

still got the absorption to do the DOMs planned
but it's OK, been sorted out by the CWU High Command

Is it not time we made a stand?

6 boxes under my frame and I keep rolling along
6 boxes under my frame and I keep rolling along
6 boxes under my frame and I keep rolling along

more verses please!

HERE HERE The first person whose told the truth on how long they really take, and we have always been told the rate is 12 per min, for the first minute, then you become progressively slower.

Sorry Guys, i said weeks ago the plan would always be this, like some on here saying
we will be given a 100% workload calculation for outdoor - it will not happen period.
In fact summer lapsing will be the next big push & the call rate will be less than last year
so more absorbtion :whistle :whistle

Firstly Fishtank, may I add that I certainly know about "flawed Planned walks" as I have been a victim of it.There is no way that I would play with something like that!

Secondly,If your duties are using the geo-route system...then they are wrong..plain and simple...top to bottom.....wrong parameters have benn inputed by somone who needs to keep their job!

600 drops x 3 d2d = 1800 items done in 60 mins = 30 items a minute.

Maybe 6 items in 14 mins not impossible after all.

I bet you will be in the top 10% Ghostman :Very Happy.

fu**ing magic as soon as the votes are in the real TRUTH comes out, all the scare stories from the union that D2D was going to disappear and jobs with them, and "listen guys we dont even think D2D will take of", oh but this is just RM`s take we still have an input, aye right we all knew we would be shafted with D2D and so did the CWU, shame on you

Our duties were not planned using geo-route drb, that's one of the reasons we were standing at the gate last summer.
The duties that were planned using geo-route are still lying in a cupboard gathering dust. :cuppa
But these new duties will be planned using geo-route and using as yet unseen, untested and unagreed parameters.
These "planners" may not be the sharpest but they have in the main had 6 months to play around with this system.
That puts reps at an immediate disadvantage even before a single duty is planned.
Just how much release time do you think a local rep will need?.....1 week.....1 month.....3 months and who will pay for that?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
