Cheers man, im the VERY 1st to admit i used to take everything for granted a bit ie what the union have actually done for us over the years etc. Very thankful to them now and am backing them 100% as i DO NOT want a Royal mail without them!!!

I can't believe people are seriously thinking of giving up after one or two strike days, Yes I know It pisses you off to lose Â£40 or Â£50 cash at a time yes Its a lot of money that you will never get back!..But looking at the bigger picture I.E... what Leighton and Co propose to do..Hardly bears thinking about and the Â£40 or so pales into Insignificence...At my main office 99% of the posties have gone out and really only a handfull of posties gone in, I know off one of these posties who has gone in and she's been completly "shunned" by the whole office. But on a sourer note I know of 2 small Market town offices that has only 15%-25% support and majority of staff has gone in, Because of absence of union rep or lack of faith in the union ..I can't believe it. I do believe we all need to stand together and support this strike, Because if a few start to drop out the few will eventually become the majority. Then even my self I have to admit damned If I gonna lose money when everyone else Isn't..Its only human nature that most people will go with the majority. So in effect this is a "fragile" majority and we must have faith in our cause and not let Royal Mail brainwash us all...
I really think the CWU need to come up with some sensible efficient suggestions on cuts and how to save money and if any jobs need to be lost, do it through EVR and Voluntary redundancy, Not just this stupid slash and burn policy with no regard for customer service or us posties. We musn't bury our head in the sands and ignore the fact that Royal Mail needs to save money, so why not put forward suggestions so these can be passed onto the union. The other option is we ignore the facts and Royal Mail impose whatever they want..Surely It's better to play devils advocate than end up in "Hell"....mmm

I agree, it`s far too early to give up. It`s not only about how much we can affect the mail with perhaps a more prolonged strike, it`s also about showing solidarity. Personally I think a stronger message gets across if we have a few one dayers and then up it to friday/mondays keep the massive support we`ve had so far. What use is an 'all out' if, as we all know, maybe only half the members support it.

Yes i completely agree with you Strangler, we need to keep the pressure on until there are more sensible suggestion put on the drawing board. I think a strike on a Fri or Sat 7 till 7 so no mail gets through then a one day strike again on the following Monday should knacker things up somewhat then do the same again in another 11 days time so we still effectivly still only lose one days pay within a week and hold the system up for 2/3 days..

Only 5 work in my office and on Friday when I stood on the picket line with 1 other colleague and watched the other 3 cross the line and go into work it made me even more determined to see this through to the end,I for one will not give up without a fight and the scabby bas****s I now work beside no longer exist!!!!!!

Chin up mate! When I watched those boss bastards drive through the picket line yesterday, two from another office had the brass neck to wave at me because I see them all the time watching rugby league in Widnes. I just blanked the scum. Tomorrow we're in a final in Blackpool so I'll probably see them there. I can't wait! But no one will ever be able to say to your kids or mine "Your dad's a scab!" Respect mate!

Well done Gazzer that must be a real piss off when in such a small office you cant all agree to stay out selfish B@:@::ds going in for there own pocket good on ya for making a stand, Just such a shame now your office will be divided in two. We have one new postie in our small office who has gone in but he is still on trial, so I guess thats fair comment ....Or is It?? We have discussed it between the rest of us and not too sure that his actions are justified..What do you think?

I feel for the new lad, it would not be fair on him and the manager may use coming out as an excuse to not pass his 3month assessment. As you know managers like people that lick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he does later on. Were bound to be back here again next year with those 2 in charge.

We had a trainee at Plymouth mdec who took part in i/a and it was on the last day of his training course, well done that lad.

good on ya gazzer thats the spirit and same to k66yla and madsorter - it reminds you that some people have really got it tough but know what side ther on.

no strike breakers in ours but manager all of a sudden wants to fill 3 unfulled vacancies (at stage 2 already) with 25 hour starters, wat a surprise
