Oh FFS I'm confused now ............................ well not just now

so if your day off falls on Saturday/Monday then you get 2 days back

or do you only get 1 day

If your day off is Saturday tough s**t. That is the message.
My day off is Friday.I will get another day in lieu.Already have 9. Can never get one when I want one anyway.
Just pay me for them - I said to the DOM.
Oh no that wouldn't be Kosher he replied.Is RM Jewish already?

my rest day is the Saturday 26th, i have taken up with my area union rep about the fact that i am losing a day his reply was tough there is nothing the union can do about it. I will be putting a grievance form in as i'm working more hour's than other people in my office for that week and I have no chance to earn overtime on my rest day . I urge all other postmen/women who are losing that day to put grievance forms in and don;t just take it laying down

monday will be classed as a bank holiday,as boxing day falls on the saturday(weekend)

The Monday after Xmas is a bank holiday- so we are off. The monday after new year isn't - so you will be working

I work in the Thames Valley Mail Centre on a Saturday only duty and I'm confused about whether I will have to work on Boxing Day or not?

As I only work Saturdays, one Saturday is effectively "one week" for me, so I'd be getting a whole "week" off. But then for all the bank holidays that fall on Mondays I would normally loose out on those anyway.

How many managers will put spare staff on Saturday as a day off just to be a clever dick then? Surely that's not really fair?

funny enough thats what my lino said he was going to do i quote" With me being a prudent manager i will be giving floaters & p/t 'ers Sat 26th as their rest day,therefore fully utilising them " the p***k did'nt even know about the "agreement" until i told him (& then he had to ring the area manager for clarification) more wise words: " I cannot believe that RM would not credit any staff member with a day in lieu if their rest day falls on the 26th & i find it hard to believe that there would be no claw back for that day"

i the asked if i would be exempt from any excess on Xmas eve due to the fact that i will be working 32 hrs that week & 90 % of the office would be working 24hrs,he then said he could not do that 'cos its a national agreement & mouthpiece cwu rep would be on his back,but if i complained i would be told "its a national agreement blah blah blah) Xmas my arse

We have been told that Royal Mail WILL BE CLAWING BACK THE HOURS. Who or what do I show the Union Rep as all we have here is copy and paste jobs. That's not really going to back me up sadly.

It's not going to help me as I know my day off will be Saturday but if I can help the others in our office it'll be good.
