coxie wrote:No bluebite that has not been brought in as of yet, and even so there is no proper strcuture in place for that to have come in yet. Your manager has brought long and shorts into your office but thats all he can do at the moment. If you finish early tuesday and you go over your time on thursday you have the right to cut off or book it if they agree to it. You need to understand mate that managers LIE to get people to do what they want and to not cut off.
I'm a new rep mate and not getting much support, trying to read up on all the agreements etc but beginning to understand that my DOM tells me what he wants me to know and is becoming a tw*t, thanks to postman daz and yourself for the advice, but mate how do you get around the 'all hours to be utilised' bit, since the I/A he's got worse not better and nothing has changed since the intrim agreement. :arrrghhh

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Its up to your DOM to find work for you to do, alter how the 40 hours are spread across the week via proposals that are agreed or let you go home early without owing RM one single minute. You are under no obligation via any agreement to work past your duty time on any given day.

If your finishing late on heavy days and early on lighter days then the houurs of attendance need altering as it implies longs and shorts has not been set up properley. L and S is trying to match your allocated hours of attendance to the workload as much as possible but still having fixed hours each day. That does not seem to be the case for some duties at your D.O

Ignore lets talk about thats RM bullshite

Go by the exact words in the national agreement not RM spin on it.

Yes we absorb, which is a joke, Problem i have is that members are still coming in Early , using Cars and going over say by 15 minutes and saying nothing, i've held a gate meeting trying to get it stopped but it's like :arrrghhh . Problem is the few who do the job properly are getting picked on not to cut off, i've had 1 b&h form go in last week against the DOM and 1 Grievance.

No

Longs and Shorts are Fixed hours on fixed days - ie 7 hours saturday - 8 Hours Mon and Tue Wed and 8.5 hours for Thursday and Friday.

Finishing early on a Tuesday and working it back later in the week is technically "Banking Hours" for which there is no agreement but RM say its flexing. Either way its unfixed and mobile working hours if you see what I mean.

It is just a blatent abuse of the flexability agereement.
The only way they can make you work over on a wed/thur/fri to make up for an early finish on a Mon/Tuesday is to ask you to flex by asking you to work half an hour UNDER your hours if you have a light day.

They can then AGREE with you that you will give the half hour back at some point later on in that same week.

You DO NOT have to flex

You DO NOT have to work past your finish time, unless you have agreed to flex.

Although it is in phase four, there is NO agreement on banking hours

DO the job properly, work your hours, go home (unless you want overtime)

I do, they hate me for it, i don't care anymore!!

a chap in my DO starts on time and when he finishs he come back to the office and works to his time everyday(inward sorting),so therefore he owes then feck all,he does the job by the book.he will break off and give hinself time to get back to the office on heavy days.

the funny thing is someone else will go out and complete his delivery on O/T :left: :left:
if everybody worked the same as him royal fail would be well and trully fecked :cuppa

There isn't any work to do in our office when you finish. We used to have a lorry come in at 12.30 but they have stopped that.So when you have finished your delivery you have finished. There is nothing left to do.
