I flexed an hour last Friday and told the manager if i did i will be finishing an hour early on Saturday as i only had to work my contracted hours.
He look totally peeved off when i brought a box of mail back on Saturday ....Just play the game and it will hurt them more than us.

in our office we are getting verbal warnings if we cut off regardless if they give us too much work.
3 verbal warnings and we are off pay.

i think dave ward and the rest of the top boys no that flex is cr-p(because i told dave ward to his face ) i was just telling him the truth , he listened to what i said and then come out with is spill , hopefully he thought about what i had said . but they are getting reports back everyday from senior reps on how much confussion and miss use by some managers this flex is causing ,and that staff is hacked off with the way there being treated with shackles around there ankles. i think we must see what the out come will be ,its no good guessing have faith my friends.

the verbal warnings and the following letters are common place in Anglia but as of yet not one person has been taken of pay.
also your manager has not got the authority to do it as it has to come from a regional director and 48 hours notice must be given.
there is still a question to whether this is illegal as well

what the managers are doing is illegal and they are getting grievances left right and centre...although it will be interesting to see how quickly these get handled

once again the leaders of our union are going to let us down bye the looks of it,now is the time to take royal mail on.in my office support for the strike has been suprisingly strong,but if the union start to accept royal mails approach and then call off our national ballot,i think people will start to weaken,as they have seen it before,surely now is the time to be strong ,it is the perfect time of year,we should make sure that before we call off any ballot,we have guarentees there will be an agreement in place to protect the membership and that royal mail must adhere to.

Im doing nothing wrong. They have offered OT on 2 occasions. I told them to stick it.

Should the union should call off the ballot when phase 4 has been implemented? Does Phase 4 mean just talks or does it mean a national agreement?

I hope the union doesnt bail on this one. Its game over if they dont get this one spot on.

Grave concerns here after the imposition of duty structures by threats and eventual submission what is going to happen to these offices who had things imposed on them by these underhand methods will they be forgoten ? and have to make do with duties that are unworkable and the duty spans (some increased beyond 3 1/2hrs) reduced to agreed levels.
Lets just hope this will be included as a lot of offices have endured this form of threat to implement new working practices under duress from bullyboy managment .............every thing thats gone on so far should be reversed and redone unde strict national guide lines that hopefully will be inplace after the looming strike action that makes royal fail honour national agreements

Specifically the constant reiteration of the phrases local and area agreement. Have these people learnt nothing from 2007? Or is someone pulling the same trick twice?
Local agreements suit RM fine;pick off the week offices ,isolate the strong and they will fall.
This LTB is just a carbon copy of 2007 ,and the same recipe for hamstringing our union.To be frank, I'm a bit shocked that some people have put their name to it. They may well have some cunning and devious plan in mind ,but with a national union and nationwide workforce,appearances and the perception of unity and solidarity count. Management can act by diktat,they are not democratic,offering local agreements is just giving RM the union head on a platter.
Now who was it that said London delivery is so inefficient it's costing you all money and all their walks can be done in 90mins, and all the striking offices are full of work shy layabouts . Crude but why add fuel?

My office is snowed under with work, yesterday no one was allowed to book and they were told they have to stay out for an extra half hour under the flex agreement which I thought was Phase 4 and has'nt been implemented yet. Looks like HQ are going to stitch us up yet again.

The half hour flexibility IIRC was part of Phase 2 or 3 - I'll check and post it up. But one thing I am certain of is that they now owe you that 1/2 hour and you should be able to claim it back this week. I would ask for Saturday

A LM said anyone who did the 30 mins over can come in 15mins later for 2 days

This has already been tried at my office. 30 Mins flex and manager said come in rest of the week 7.5 mins later each day.

If I stay on after my duty for 30 minutes I want 30 minutes back after my duty, No! 7.5 minutes each day the same amount of time should be given back this should not be done on the managers discretion. I think that the Pay and Modernersation Agreement is rubbish under this agreement we are doing extra work for no extra money, how as this been beneifical to us no wonder the managers are getting bigger bonues we have been shafted left right and centre.

To assist development of a fourth Phase of Royal Mail modernisation, consultation and negotiation will now take place in the following working groups. The intention is for these joint working groups to develop national agreements, where appropriate, by no later than the end of April 2008, to be deployed as soon as possible thereafter.
