Chaps there is not going to be a 3 month mortarium but its a tactic which we should use because the motion said that all the current executive action would have to be resolved.

In terms of action i cant go into detail but all will be revealed very very soon and believe me no one is backing down.

Fact is that Royal Mail do not want a national union or national agreements. Yesterday at Conference every divison held a meeting and the number of ballots is growing at a rapid rate. There can be no more hiding places for Branch`s the call for action was made and it was supported by Conference.

So no one is backing down to Royal Mail and all will be revealed very shortly.

More than ready, when the call comes you won't find me wanting, I manned the pickets last time and would do so again - however it's difficult to man a barricade that is moving further and further away - with the call by the leadership for a 3 month moratarium what sort of message do you think that expresses to the membership?

Someone else posted that the CWU had concentrated on the privatisation issue to the exclusion of the issues that we are facing and have been facing for some time, and I would agree with that, however there is little point in remaining in public ownership if the working conditions and pay are in decline. Perhaps it is time for straight talking, let's drop the verbiage and get down to the nitty gritty - there's too much talk and not enough action, when it comes down to it there isn't the courage at the top to carry out the will of the membership.

Personaly I think the Top guys in the Union should come down and talk to members from all sections all over the country,after all we pay their wages .

Either they come to grassroots annd talk and find out our issues or stand down.
a Propper challenge should be set meet the people or resign.!!

If the top guys in the Union are in tune with members they will have no problem meeting them will they?

There have been too many false dawns in the past. One more and the CWU will kill itself without even needing RM to hand the CWU the knife.

The membership was up for the fight last time round and they will not be found wanting again when the call comes, providing they see real leadership from the front.
