These plastic sleeves are being made in house at the 2 super hubs.

It will save the company £80m per year.

You will see about 60% of yorks will be the new white plastic sleeves across the network by the end of this week, certainly in mail centres.

Now the local DO's have already been on the phone demanding that all yorks sent to them must have bases fitted.

We are awaiting the issue of the slider tool and WTLL brief to the local DO's then we will send them the new white plastic sleeves.

Never again will i have to hear whinging of "IT AINT GOT NO BASE"

You will be issued with the slider tool and sign for the WTLL brief and video and that will be that.

It's a good thing, and speeds up automated tipping and enables less yorks on vehicles due to greater fill levels.
With the old cardboard sleeves, the bases can't be used if there's any items in it that weigh more than 2Kg, and with there being a very high chance of a sleeve having at least 1 item that weighs more than 2Kg it's not practical to use the bases (there aren't any bases any more anyway)
Yes, there are no more cardboard base’s to be had, and even amazon have ditched them.

As said even if you go to the trouble of putting a base in then it will just be crushed under the weight, and you will
still have too stoop to clear it and pick out all the packets that have fallen through or under it.

There's a lot of ! in there.
DJ Joyce is talking bull,

There are perfectly adequate laid out methods of nesting, strapping and moving white correx sleeves.
And for loading and repat operations.

Hopefully by the end of this week we should be at some 60% white correx sleeves across the network.

You'll have it easy in DOs with these, in MCs we'll be sorting from dozens of them each day

These are the only things that will work with the lifting machines at the Hubs. They have a team of mostly agency making them at NW Hub.
This is all we take to Customers now. The red sleeves are being decommissioned and stored at Atherstone.

There will be a rethink when they realise they’ve easily just added an hour on to a lot of delivery offices indoor sort time!

They're also kinda similar to the newer version of the red sleeves, as they sit lower down

Are they being removed from use in just one part of the country or across the whole of RM?

Red sleeves were disappearing from my MC at a rate of knots all last week, everyday more white correx containers were arriving from all over the country.
