How can they pay 1500 out to everybody? They've got no money and are on the verge of admin? :cuppa
That’ll be pro rata so the part timers get an extra shafting

Re: Talks have ended - no agreement

Post by POSTMAN »

Negotiations with Royal Mail Group concluded last night without agreement.

The company advised the union that the Directors who have been leading negotiations are no longer available and that the Board will be meeting today to determine their next steps.

There has been progress in several areas and the union made it clear last night that we are willing to continue negotiations today and tomorrow to finalise an agreement. This offer has been reiterated to the company this morning.

We will be consulting with the union’s Postal Executive later today, taking stock of the situation and considering all available options with regards to our next steps.

The company have published selected aspects of their latest offer directly to employees and claim that the main sticking point is new entrants terms and conditions. This is not true. We have seen these actions throughout this dispute from the employer and we know you will not be phased.

We will engage with all CWU members on the status of the whole talks, explaining exactly where the differences are, including the unacceptable pressures deliberately being placed on our members through imposed revisions that are failing quality of service and USO compliance.

Further information will be sent out in due course.
Thank you for your continued support.

That’s very nice Royal Mail but what are we giving up in return? No mention of commit to deliver, no mention of banking hours, no mention of seasonal variation. There are a lot of things missing or not been mentioned and I’d like to hear what the union have to say on the matter.

Previously all press releases from the CWU were equality checked for errors maintaining professional standards. The media and communication dept has gone down hill in recent years with quality and needs a professional running the dept.

No thanks, sounds like a smokescreen for a piss poor agreement. We need backed dated percentage based pay rise and increased to the full 10% immediately so that we don’t have to wait till April 2024. Don’t fall for the lump-sum carrot.

If the £1500 is taken as 12 months back pay 1500/52 is around £28 gross per week. Is at that around 3% ?? Please correct me if I’m wrong. So that equates to 2% already imposed plus the 3. Is that an equivalent 5% gross rise for 22/23? Although that only covers basic pay. Not allowances / OT etc

So basically, one side or the other (and I'm betting management,) said "Screw this. We're not working on this over the bank holiday."

Equality checked? Or quality checked.
