Can you please let us know what offices are clearing everyday?

Well ours is. Despite being understaffed too. We were informed that we were in the top 20 offices in the country recently. That will all change when our revision kicks in next month as the changes are not achievable.

No it is definitely reliant on overtime. Even better though if you want to make a few quid and it is always hoovered up.

I'm sure it must be cheaper to pay posties a few extra hours to take a bit more (even if they still finish before the time they're paid until) than it is to pay casuals to come in at 12 and wait for vans to come back... Not sure if it's spite, stupidity, stubbornness or a toxic blend of all 3.

You can put money on that being the “update” later on. That’s if we are lucky enough to even get that, half decent chance they just ghost us until next week.

Message from Ricky McAulay: Talks with the CWU continue to try and reach agreement

Talks with the CWU have been ongoing this week and both parties have agreed to extend talks again to allow more time for a resolution to be reached.
We have made some progress after substantial efforts to reach an agreement, but there is more to do.

As such, talks will continue over the coming days.

This is a pivotal moment for Royal Mail. We remain committed to getting a deal so that we can give our people a pay rise and move forward with our transformation.

The Communication Workers Union

Following the Royal Mail Group Board meeting on Wednesday, negotiations have continued over the last 48 hours.
Some progress has been made but things remain at a very delicate stage.
We need every member to stand with the union in the coming days. It is your support that has moved the employer and will continue to do so.

Royal Mail are really only after two main changes:

1. Bigger workloads for everyone
2. Later start and finish times


And they have just forced them in many offices via executive action hence why many posties want to strike. The CWU are playing an absolute blinder in continuing endless talks whilst everyone gets acclimatised to the changes that Royal Mail want.....


The main issue with bigger workloads is that posties are not getting the time to deliver them and management are not putting in additional resource to get them complete. There have been some decent savings made by the company by not getting the USO delivered and it's often the letters and non-tracked parcels that are either being brought back or left in frames.

And the issue with later starts and finishes? Look, if more parcels are coming into delivery offices later because its coming via a mode of transport with lower carbon emissions, all the business really needs to do is recruit more drivers to do LATs on the afternoons and evenings. Why try and move the WHOLE operation backwards instead?? It just doesn't make any commercial sense whatsoever for having us start work later when our competitors are already out on the roads delivering parcels!! Royal Mail's business model looks and feels to me as if it has been written on the back of a fag packet.

Secondly, of course they have lower costs, they’re only a fraction of our size, delivering a fraction of the amount we do, while paying their employees less than us

McAulay was a piece of work in Glasgow. Seems he's still shitting on people. Why is it that in RM ,when you f**k up you get promoted. He has f****d up a lot.
