Re: Backdated Pay Guessing Game
They are dragging their heels till the financial year and reckon they'll use that as an excuse to not pay us the backdated deal. At best, think they'd give us October.

A poor 5% not backdated. CWU say it's the best with the company close to going bust, and we're protecting future jobs blah blah. We've accepted on your behalf and we won't be having a vote on it sorry. I'm not expecting anything and I won't be disappointed

i like most of these comments a lot of people showing their no mugs wanting at least a grand lump sum, and backdated pay, remember we are the union ,knock back any crap offers, other industries have went on strike for less time than us have done and have done well out of it, if we accept next to nothing their is no point,

The other industries aren’t private companies generally. They are government funded.fallenworld2022 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2023, 19:03i like most of these comments a lot of people showing their no mugs wanting at least a grand lump sum, and backdated pay, remember we are the union ,knock back any crap offers, other industries have went on strike for less time than us have done and have done well out of it, if we accept next to nothing their is no point,

Re: Backdated Pay Guessing Game
Hopefully the cwu doesn't come back with a deal that under sales the efforts we have all put into this fight. I know the deal is more than just a pay rise and back pay. But it's an important element of the deal.fallenworld2022 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2023, 19:03i like most of these comments a lot of people showing their no mugs wanting at least a grand lump sum, and backdated pay, remember we are the union ,knock back any crap offers, other industries have went on strike for less time than us have done and have done well out of it, if we accept next to nothing their is no point,

Re: Backdated Pay Guessing Game
Probably another deal of the century when we got shafted over the D2D payments "for our own good".
So I'm expecting a 5% decrease in wages and we have to pay the company back £500 from our wages also "for our own good"

Union what Union? Do we have a union?

Re: Backdated Pay Guessing Game
If we do get a lump sum of any size, I imagine everyone will get exactly the same amount then over the following 3-4 weeks pay will be deducted from PTs to make it pro rata, as RM seem incapable of running payroll...

Re: Backdated Pay Guessing Game
Our union rep says pay would be backdated to October plus a £500 lump sum. He also said the agreement would be announced on the 13th.
Whatever happens I think we’ve been stitched up and I’m cancelling my union subs

You're not alone. Can't understand why the union never pushed to get VR for those who wanted it even on the terms first advertised. Instead, RM will get the job losses they wanted for free through making peoples lives at work a misery and people getting so pissed off they are leaving without anything. All you heard from the union is protecting jobs. Wake up CWU some of us would have actually liked to have gone with a sweetener.Shinsplints88 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2023, 20:32Our union rep says pay would be backdated to October plus a £500 lump sum. I doubt there is any postie who was due to be on duty on every single one of the 18 strike days.koolishy67 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2023, 13:38I think around £500-600 lump sump we already lost around £1800 in 22/23 because of strike so what ever increase is still need to recover those money first
Some in my office work weekend shifts and had many of the strike dates fall on their rest days

Re: Backdated Pay Guessing Game
Even if a deal was agreed tomorrow morning, by the time a ballot on it was completed & assuming a yes vote, any back pay isn’t going to be in our wages next Friday or the following one. So any payment will actually take place in the new Financial Year and not affect the results for the 2022/23 year-end results, announced in MayShadedpostie wrote: ↑16 Mar 2023, 18:52They are dragging their heels till the financial year and reckon they'll use that as an excuse to not pay us the backdated deal. Re: Backdated Pay Guessing Game
what would be acceptable for me to vote it in? 4% extra for this year, fully backdated.5% going forward for next year.Buy out of historic allowances RM want to end.later Start times to align with the new network.Union support to get the USO reduced to 5 days a week for letters.Sick pay policy unchanged. No annualised hours.IHR maintained at current rate. And the deal breaker for me is a guaranteed finishing time every day.

Re: Backdated Pay Guessing Game
Nobody ever seems to mention the shorter week anymore. This could be a face saver for both party’s if an hour off gets chucked into the deal as well. It wouldn’t cost them anything extra on the balance sheet.
It’s what I would be trying to get thrown in as well if you couldn’t get the % rise to where you wanted to be.
