Yes, to be fair I'd forgotten about that reduction, which I think is £6,000 for 2023/24 and £3,000 from 24/25 onwards.

Although there's obviously some room for manoeuvre for those who do want to buy bars.

I might add that I've never personally bought any gold and have no immediate intention of doing so.

It is interesting that you've mentioned CGT, as that is only payable on profits from certain investments! :hmmmm

Like I said upthread financial repression awaits us all as the Government will find it impossible to keep the Ponzi going.
CGT being cut and the income tax threshold being frozen until 2028 is just the start.
