Re: National overtime ban!
We had the "no pressure overtime will be paid" message this morning.
Interestingly (or not) we have full time staff who are paid to start 90 minutes early every day.
They are not included in the overtime ban as they aren't paid pressure overtime but absence overtime apparently.
Much as I hate to make the accusation on a public forum this appears to be playing with budgets.
So when Simon tells us how much sick leave is costing the business, where are his figures coming from.
If these people are being paid absence overtime are they also inflating the amount the business thinks it is paying in sick leave.

Oh well it's going well so far
. Cut offs brought back today and whole walks that didn't go out because the pairings knew they had no chance of being done on time!

Re: National overtime ban!
Told we as part timers could no longer book pressure overtime in the morning. OK, fair enough I said, but mentioned that we'd no longer be able to complete as that early start and prep that either me or my partner did was necessary to complete the duty each day (we don't want to work late) Since then we've completed the duty twice (Monday and Tuesday) in five attempts. Every other time we've left loops in or brought them back. Simply not enough time to prep in the mornings when starting at my supposed correct time. First reaction of the managers is to lay the blame at our feet of course.
People still coming in around an hour early unpaid isn't helping our cause as they're getting ready to tie up as I'm finishing throwing in my mech. Managers say they can't stop people coming in early but I'm sick of those people now. They're screwing us all over. They want to walk out for a pay rise but also work for free every day and completely distort what is/isn't possible within our working day.

If you are part time and work 5 days a week then the duty should be practically ready to tie up each day on your arrival.robknot wrote: ↑06 Jul 2022, 15:42Told we as part timers could no longer book pressure overtime in the morning. Nope. Prep our own duties. Always have. Part time duty of over 30 hrs a week. 8.20 start time today on a Wednesday.Cucumber wrote: ↑06 Jul 2022, 15:56If you are part time and work 5 days a week then the duty should be practically ready to tie up each day on your arrival.robknot wrote: ↑06 Jul 2022, 15:42Told we as part timers could no longer book pressure overtime in the morning. That's what they say but you can guarantee the frame will be a mess as you get in on a Saturday meanwhile the full timers will be tying up. If they want to play silly buggers just work to rule and work your time, they won't be able to lapse it all.Cucumber wrote: ↑06 Jul 2022, 15:56If you are part time and work 5 days a week then the duty should be practically ready to tie up each day on your arrival.robknot wrote: ↑06 Jul 2022, 15:42Told we as part timers could no longer book pressure overtime in the morning. Re: National overtime ban!
If you need pressure overtime at this time of the year to complete your duties, why isn't an increase in your contracted hours been raised by your rep?
Or why isn't some of the prep being done before you start?

Re: National overtime ban!
I like it & hope it continues, we worked bang up to twenty two minutes past two & headed back to the van & returned to the office with the last few loops, strangely the two longest serving posties brought there partner back to the office & went back out to complete, not sure if it was a deal with the DOM or they like working for free?

Re: National overtime ban!
Not been told this in our office but then we are short staffed and there’s whole duties not going out so they’re grateful for any OT we do… funny how a national decision doesn’t actually mean national.
