When we ballot the union must make it absolutely clear what industrial action they are proposing.

One day strikes are a complete waste of time. We lose a days pay and simply have the extra workload to cope with over the next few days. We need to be prepared to strike over a much longer period, which would potentially cause RM to lose the vast majority of its parcel customers to our competitors.
:Applause :Applause :Applause we need a full week ,and if no movement the following month another week.

Time to start talking to non union members and runners and what's at stake, already got 2 new lads to join the union today, they have only been here for 3 months and are sick and fed up with management already, unity is strength, this is definitely our one last stand,if pay and conditions become that bad what is the point in saving the company,if we go down they are coming with us.

Even four days would cripple them providing the majority striked.

They normally stagger the strike days so you might get the distribution centres out one day, mail centres out the next day and delivery offices out the day after. Maximum disruption to the service with only the loss of one days pay.

with all the strings they attach..... why do we even bother going over our time to help them out, especially at Xmas. Adding strings just shows they do not value us, so we should not give them anything in return. Just do an honest days work within your contracted hours, but nothing more.
Do you just do an honest's days work or do you go over freely be honest. hfully you give nothing for free but??
I do my best to finish on time, but it can't always be done to the exact minute.

Happens at our place too. Got back on Saturday last week and a guy was in on his day off to put all his D2Ds in for the following week.
We had one guy who would pop in on a Sunday to get his done for the next week.
And Royal Mail are trying to save money.... not sure they need to when they get thousands of hours of free work across the country per day from the idiots who come in early, don't take their breaks, rush around etc etc....

RM are getting more than their moneys worth out of employees overall.

They can do it along side the 4 weeks dispute resolution process.

The last thing we need to do is get into petty arguments about who does the job properly, it's pointless and self harming.

No offence aiden but it's also not really on for a mailcentre guy to question someone on delivery, two entirely different worlds.

All i am asking is does he work for free as hes very good at criticising others for doing so. not trying to be petty apologies if it come across that way.
