If you don’t believe me then check on workplace, Simon Thompson wants to trail this.

Your also forgetting that there will be two big parcel hubs with parcel automation capacity which will mean for mail centres within the catchment area they will lose circa 25% of their outward work including any weekend concentration work. In addition every mail centre will lose all their format 3&4 parcels which are currently manually sorted.

In addition there will be a significant number of parcel machines installed in mail centes which will reduce jobs.

Additionally remember IPS and prep only accounts for 20% of a delivery OPG workload. The parcels , tracked , CSP etc will all remain in delivery units.

The CWU is opposing it. However this is the Scandinavian model which they wanted to introduce when they wanted the multi bundle delivery idea and the 9-5 delivery window

I don't doubt he wants it. I do doubt it is achievable. Happy to let the MC have a go but I'm not prepared to wait til the afternoon for them to deliver me my prepped mail.

Well RM will need to pull their finger out and deal wit h way normal and Tracked, small and large are mixed together on yorks/in sleeves with the odd special thrown in. Unless the hubs can handle any size parcel then they're going to end up rejecting most yorks

There's no such thing as format 3 & 4 in MCs. We have small and large parcels (which tend to come in mixed together these days - often with large and small Tracked with the occasional SD thrown in)
