we are starting the trial in Jan/Feb at 8 units agreed with CWU. We will then review, with the intent to deploy to the rest of RMG quickly. Once a request is submitted in the app, it will go to your manager for approval. If approved, it will shown as such in the tile on the People App. So hopefully no paper required!

I’m quoting myself but I think I was entirely right. This isn’t the ability to book odd days as needed. It’s the ability to put in a request for annual leave online rather than in writing or verbally. You will still have no chance of it being approved if there is no spaces available that week and the chances of spaces being available are very slim because everyone is forced to pick all their annual leave up to 18 months in advance.Zicomurphy wrote: ↑30 Sep 2021, 13:42I imagine the catch will be the ability to book odd days only where there are spaces available within your office, which, after the main pick has happened, tend to be very limited.nutcracker wrote: ↑30 Sep 2021, 13:20Finally making something easier, what’s the catch, normally there’s a catch with these a**holes

But hopefully we’ll be able to view online the annual leave “book” equivalent and so be able to see what odd days and weeks are available. I know in a way its not much different to the current system, but for me personally it will make the process a lot easier.Zicomurphy wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 20:10I’m quoting myself but I think I was entirely right. Booking annual leave through the People App - trial now live…
As part of DILO and our continued focus on simplification, we’ve been working with the People App team to digitalise the way in which employees request ad hoc days off.
It’s one of the most requested simplification improvements from line managers and a popular suggestion from users of the People App – especially our frontline colleagues who don’t have access to PSP.
We know getting this right will be a win for all of us - allowing users to request ad hoc leave anytime, anywhere at the touch of a button, whilst helping managers to deal with annual leave bookings without having to keep a paper trail of new requests.
I’m delighted to say that we have got the technology working and a trial has now commenced across 8 Delivery units for 6 weeks.
The trial enables users of the People App to request ad hoc annual leave via their smart phone and this is routed to their line managers’ PSP worklist. After the trial, we will jointly review the feedback with CWU and agree next steps. Look out for further updates in March.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
