There is a rather devious way that we could work this .

At the moment any customer who opts out of D2D affects our payment because the amount of D2Ds have a reduction, now if we were to persuade our customers ,(quietly),to opt out on mass we would get the same payment regardless of how many less we deliver :hmmmm .

Think it was without it. Didn't someone get sacked for doing this before.

The rebel postman who became a populist hero when he championed the case against junk mail is to keep his job, it was announced yesterday.

Roger Annies, 45, won praise from customers and environmental campaigners when he told householders on his route how to avoid some of the 21 billion pieces of junk mail which are put through Britain's letterboxes each year.

Taking matters into his own hands the father-of-one, from Barry, south Wales, designed and circulated a leaflet highlighting Royal Mail's opt-out clause for unsolicited mail. It read: "As you will have certainly already noticed, your postman is not only delivering your mail; he/she also has to deliver some (anonymous) advertising material called door-to-door items.

"You may be interested in reducing your unwanted advertising mail and reduce paper usage in order to help save the environment.

"If you complete the slip below and send it to the Royal Mail delivery office, you should not get any of the above mentioned unwanted advertising."

But Mr Annies was suspended and faced a disciplinary hearing for his intervention.

Yesterday, however, a company spokesman said he had been reinstated.

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Think what will happen when we go from 3 d2ds a week to 6, 9, 20(?) a week....doesn't take much to imagine articles in the Mail, the Express, Guardian, etc, etc about the unwanted junk mail, waste of resources, etc, etc, and the whinges, moans, complaints, etc ad infinitum, from customers....in which case you say "Funny you should say that, squire - I don't like delivering them....why don't you write to this address I'm about to give you, asking to not have these leaflets delivered....it'll take about a week or so to sort out & you'll have my spine's gratitude!"

I have the address around somewhere, I'll look for it tomorrow ( unless someone beats me to it ).
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Mail delivery; those that can, do, those that can't, MANAGE!

IIRC, he was reinstated, but lost his duty, was kept indoors and jacked it in within a year, with an air of mgmt B&H to it ( but nothing provable, of course )
