Great diplomat our DIM
Doesn't that amount to "constructive dismissall"

Next time he's says something like that, mention to him this fact , and tell him that If he repeats it you will formaly be LOGGING his statement with the B & H line, CWU and His area manager.......

Then Smile as he fumbles this next few words..........
I was sure I'd seen a bead of sweat on my line manager the other day - Until I realised that he had just brushed past me too close

Had a work time learning this morning about them bringing in a 6.15 start (we're 5.00 at the moment) in september. They tried telling us it was because of the EEC directive stipulating that the vans can only drive up to 56 mph so they will take longer to reach there destination. I mentioned to them that those van runs were originally worked out at those speeds any way so it should make no differance, and what speeds must they have been doing if it was above 56!!!!.They could'nt tell me   I then asked if the real reason was a cost cutting measure, they said royal mail would'nt save anything coz the early allowance will be consolidated into any future pay rise. Will new recruits receive the early allowance I awkwadly asked, no came the reply, so you are saving money then and it IS a cost cutting measure :arrrghhh

How f***ing dumb do they think we are :evil/mad

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We've forgotten what a WTL is in our office! Only had one in four weeks, including todays, as temp Dum chose it as his dayoff, our other temp Dum, who's missed two, is on his jollies for two weeks. Obviously no propaganda to brainwash us with at the moment!

our wtl was also about later starts. they seem hell bent on bringing this in as soon as poss. said we'd all be getting letters very shortly. thought all this had been put on back burner for now. ?

Did not have one this week - too busy yesterday and today we asked for one because we were bored. Manager said no we have them on Tuesdays (RM managerial flexibility - only flexible when it suits them).

I queried the lack of managerial interest in WTL this last two weeks and was told they hadn't had anything sent down for them to read out!!!
