The joint statement has been agreed despite the date, it's in the Coronavirus forum and also an LTB.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

From the briefing:
Royal Mail Group will fully recognise individual circumstances (medical, mental
health, stress, anxiety etc.) in respect of those unable to share vehicles and
make reasonable adjustments as appropriate.

So moved onto another delivery or allowed to start later in the day when the van gets back?

In the real world....
Royal Mail Group will give full lip service to individual circumstances (medical, mental
health, stress, anxiety etc.) in respect of those unable to share vehicles and will harass and bully into sharing as appropriate.

in all honestly anyone who feels anxious about van sharing who's already been sorting/prepping for 2 to 3 hours in the morning shouldn't even be there,
i've been bumping into people, clashing arms/hands/shoulders since the virus first hit us, it's been business as usual bar the outdoor element of the job,
30 mins or so driving together between loops with someone you trust is nothing to the hustle bustle indoors, which is a nightmare and something the cwu & management simply swept under the carpet to keep us moving

Not so simple if you're a reserve chucked here there and everywhere with new daily partners in a stinking hot van. A licence to spread....korky wrote: ↑20 Jul 2021, 17:28in all honestly anyone who feels anxious about van sharing who's already been sorting/prepping for 2 to 3 hours in the morning shouldn't even be there,

i get that element of the job, but anyone, reserves, full time, part timer in early then the risk factor goes out of the window working indoors
at least outdoors you are with just 1 person for 5hrs or so rather than close contact with 30 or so indoors

I don't recall anyone in my depot having an easily identifying mark, such as a flashing red light above their heads, signifying they were infected in the ~4 days before they showed symptoms or felt ill enough to isolate.
I do recall before can sharing was scrapped, a number of cases in my depot, showing a chain of infection from one day of van sharing, having shared vans for ~45mins over each shift.
Delta is far more transmittable than previous UK strains.
Double vaccination does not guarantee you will not catch or spread Delta.
I'd urge everyone to wear masks; keep your distance when possible; do at least twice weekly Lateral Flow tests and have the NHS Covid app active when not at home.

This. My record in a 26/27 day working month was 19 different rounds which looking back was ridiculous.Jahpostie wrote: ↑20 Jul 2021, 17:36Not so simple if you're a reserve chucked here there and everywhere with new daily partners in a stinking hot van. Even 3 or 4 van partners I could cope with. But it won’t work like that and we’ll be shunted here there and everywhere.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

you're high-lighting the outdoor, but what is the indoor work like?HTPostman wrote: ↑20 Jul 2021, 19:45This. i'd hazard a guess that you're more likely to catch any sort of virus off a work colleague indoors than outdoors

Re: Return to shared vans from *?????????* ***
You're missing the point. Van sharing is a confined space worse than indoors with no option to distance. Therefore reserves are massively more exposed to infection. Effectively thrown under the bus. Cannon fodder.korky wrote: ↑20 Jul 2021, 20:18you're high-lighting the outdoor, but what is the indoor work like?HTPostman wrote: ↑20 Jul 2021, 19:45This. suppose my d/o differs to most then, i'd be 2 to 3 feet away in a ventilated van with zero physical contact, whilst indoors i'm continuously barged into, elbows hitting my chin, calves kicked whilst doing ips

Ventilated van?
Get ready for the disputes when one person wants both windows fully open and the other wants them shut on a rainy day.
