To aid the transition, offices that have not deployed delivery methods revisions will have to provide genuine and demonstrable solutions to any weight or volumetric issues.
Our rep is new and doesnt know what hes doing.
To leave this to local agreements is a nonsense. DOMs will implement what THEY want and not what is managable.
This is what lead to a break down in relations last time.
Local agreements dont work or, in our office, are imposed.

Is it that hard to prep 16% a day,and what happens, happens?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So if your manager says just prep 16% and what happens, happens that's ok?POSTMAN wrote:Is it that hard to prep 16% a day,and what happens, happens?
How does that protect full-time jobs POSTMAN?
Unless we get our prep time, extra workload and extra volumes properly recorded and accounted for,it protects feck all.

Re: Door to Door update
I would say it is hard to prep 16.6% a day accurately
Lets not forget that one slot on the frame does not mean an equal length of time on delivery.
Off the pavement terrace is completely different to a dteached with a long driveway.
So you see 16.6% isnt all that simple to work out afterall.
D2D into workload should be part of an accurate revision process otherwise we will get managers and possible posties cutting corners cause they cant be arsed to deal with it, thus not protecting jobs.
i wonder which way it will go...

Re: Door to Door update
If you look closely at the wording of the agreement , its says "interim arrangements" which are to keep the D.O going untill a revison takes place.
What can HQ offer on interim agreements?
Its a very simple process to following the reaching local agreement section of the IR framework, as a local rep I certainly dont need or want HQ to hold my hand and help me decide what is the most suitable interim arrangements for my D.O!!
Its not as if there a multitude of options that can be used pre revision is it? If more hours are needed then its more manpower either through recruitment or O/T.
The guidelines IMHO will be for putting DTD into workload during the revsion.
The rep should be talking with the members about how they wish to cover the extra DTD and then go and talk to the DOM.
If they reach agreement all well and good, if not stage 1 dissagrement it is.

That's my whole point Daz......then what?Big Daz wrote:

Stage 1 would normally secure the status quo.....but not in this case.
So....does the implementation of D2D into workload without agreement constitute Executive Action?

Re: Door to Door update
RE what i said,i meant if there is no guidelines yet regarding the prepping of the s**t if we go live in June.
Most of us do 20% a day now, doing 16% at the start (max 3 D2D's) will be easier for most of us,it will me and a lot in my office.
Also instead of doing the whole walk (my RDC does not like doing them)i will only be doing two thirds of it.(4 day week)
Those on a 5 day week will be doing less especially now that the RDC's will do their share.
Flip side, those who have never touched a D2D could possibly struggle.
So RM will say, well you do 20% a day,now you are now doing less so what's the problem.
Some of us could say, well i've never done D2D's on this walk,i'm going to struggle ect.
Happy days, but like i said, prep the s**t,let them sort out whatever happens.
When the guidelines eventually come out,we'll be a bit wiser.

Re: Door to Door update
POSTMAN,on the 7th of june, depending on the number of D2Ds your office recieves your office traffic figures will jump by as much as 20%.
If that increased traffic is not properly resourced, accounted for and allocated into workload it will simply be absorbed and disappear in a puff of smoke.
Up until now there has been no time allocated in your duty span for D2D prep.
This has resulted in the majority of members prepping in their own time i.e taking it home, starting early or prepping during meal breaks.
D2D into workload means having for the first time real defined allocation of time on your duty for both prepping it and taking into consideration the extra calls associated with delivering it.
It is not a case of will it mean extra work.Of course it won't if you still have the same number of D2Ds.
It's more a case of capturing that extra work and using it to our advantage and to do that properly we need the guidelines.

Re: Door to Door update
Seems to me ,the point people are trying to make is that this agreement was sold to people on the basis of D2D being placed in measured workload. There was an implied trade off between financial loss /added workload and job security. Without national agreed standards any such benefit will be easily snatched away and you all know it will happen where there is one speck of doubt/confusion. Still in 12 months time you will get some HQ mouthpiece telling you it was all your own fault for being weak. Deja vu Deja vu

Re: Door to Door update
So if D2Ds are now part of the mail, does this mean that those who have opted out are now going to get them again, after all, all mail as to be delivered,
