always thought warnings were at line managers discretion , never heard of anyone not getting a stage warning.

We've got a screw who says there is no such thing as stress. Mind you, he had three weeks off when his dad died. I expect that was due to a bad back though.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:When it happened I Hope they weighed his coffee mug to make sure it was not over the CMA weight matrixBELIAL wrote: conducted by manager just back after 6months with bad back.

The thing is mate, his dad was a good union man. Personally, I'd die of shame if either of my kids sold out their class like this scumbag has done.L Tommo wrote:IWW why did he have a bad back??? Carrying the coffin as no fecka went to a screws old mans funeral....

Re:
I dont remember them but was told about 'Whitley' days by some of the 'old timers'. They told me pretty much the same as what you have already said, they said you had a set number of days you had to take off a year sick and the Union would make sure you had taken them....rickyxx wrote:When I started in the 70's we had the union man around to inform you if you were due a "whitley" which was apparently an agreement regarding sick leave. If you hadn't had a day off sick for about a year you were told to go sick !Anyone remember them?
