Furlough part 2 : There are no plans to reintroduce a furlough scheme at this time

I fit in this group. Got the email to say I’m clinically extremely vulnerable. Basically I go to work or I’m now on half pay.

What a choice!

same situation, got a letter Saturday stating from 04/12 on half pay. There is bound to be more lockdowns etc before this is sorted. What choice do I have, risk serious health complications going to work, or stay home and eventually end up on no pay/ssp.

Employees who have received a letter / email from the government or NHS advising that they are extremely clinically vulnerable should work from home where possible. Where it's not possible, they are entitled to sick pay in line with the normal Royal Mail sick pay limits. Where sick pay has been exhausted, SSP may be paid (subject to eligibility) in line with government guidelines.
I don't see how RM can defend this position TBH (I struggle to believe someone with any working bodily function actually came up with it).

They can claim furlough for such employees, so there is no need to use any sick pay or to subject those people to SSP for isolating due to their clinically vulnerable status.

Is this not some form of discrimination?
It's absolutely disgusting if truth be told.
