Pullinger is an absolute joke. If you can't take mail in your car how does he expect us to collect parcels. Ambulances, bin men, police are all in shared vehicles. Are they any different to us ?
He's doing this to keep us safe, really !! The CWU aren't doing anything for people with musculoskeletal problems. O H Assist have stopped support. Union in uproar, not a word. You're on your own. Pullinger has lost touch with posties & hasn't the first clue. Maybe he should change his name to Terry Trump.

I’m no fan of Terry at the moment but I’m fully with him on the van share issue. Covid is getting worse again we should not be sharing vans just to make it easier for us to do more work in our contracted hours. Period. If it takes 45 mins each way for the walker to come meet the van driver then so be it, hand 2 rows back and let the managers sort it, that’s why their paid more than us. Royal Mail should suck it up and hire more vans to get us through the winter then see what the situation is in April. Anyone who volunteers to share a van next week is an absolute mug, when you catch Covid what do you think Royal Mail are going to come back and say? They will say we didn’t force you to share a van it was optional, then probably won’t pay you for being sick. Don’t do them any favours they don’t give a s**t about us, the people making these decisions will all be working from home in their cushy little bedrooms. f**k em.

People are advised not to car share outside their family unit.

Both of them think that the job is still like it was in the 80s/90s when we finished on the walks about 2/3 hours before our time and when I became a nightshift distribution driver , most of us slept for 7 hours of the 8 hrs18 mins shift. Although I've left and now work for DWP I'm sad to say that these hasbeens need to go for the future of the union. It needs new blood and guidance or I'm afraid more and more members will leave and it does the union's of all workers no good, especially as the CWU is still one of the strongest and most powerful union's still left. You'd don't want them to become just talking shops without power, which I'm afraid seems to be happening with pinky and perky at the helm. No matter who takes over, they will have a hard job ahead with a lot of unpopular decisions to be made but I'm sure that there are better people out there to take yous forward. It's time they went out to pasture. Good luck.
