There's mentions on the news that it could have been around already around Octomber/November, maybe as early as September, which makes me wonder if we've already had a second wave

There's a massive list of exemptions to self isolating on entry to UK including one for postal workers. Although im not clear if this will apply to us.

Those only apply to people who are traveling as part of their job.
They do not apply if you're taking a holiday.

is what it says. I don't think bringing back one's own postcard from Spain will count, unfortunately.

There's a surprise.
Does Boris have the bottle to put our health first or will he cave in to Michael O'Leary?

I don't want to sound like im encouraging anyone but given limited resources a lot of us may be able to get away with it. Border officers most likely will not check everybody and even though you are pulled to fill papers for quarantine I believe an id card and brief explanation might do the trick. These exemptions are all open for individual interpretation.Woody Guthrie wrote:Lol.Joe4567 wrote:There's a massive list of exemptions to self isolating on entry to UK including one for postal workers. Unless you're planning on taking a Royal Mail artic with you on holiday it's going to be a non starter.
These exemptions are just an extension of the existing exemptions for cross border working lorry drivers use, showing a Royal Mail ID without 40 tonnes of inward mail in your luggage will just get you laughed at.
Anyway Boris will crumble and O'Leary will be jamming Covid-19 cases onto planes by the middle of July. Money talks.

You may be well right but I believe this whole thing is just so wrong at many levels that it will be first difficult to enforce and it won't last longer than till the end of month. Anything longer than that is just going to put nail in the coffin for aviation, travel, hospitality and to some extent retail industries. Especially those working in outlets at the airports will suffer the most. I just can not see this happening well into July. Hope I am not wrong.
