If RM had their own way they would have us working 48 hours for the first 3 weeks of Christmas pressure and 32 hours for 3 weeks after Christmas instead of paying us for overtime during Christmas pressure, this is the reason I disagree with annualised hours.

But can you not understand that their vision of 48 hours are based on when we were job & go. When we rushed everywhere because we could go home when we finished. Now we have to work to our time and by doing the job properly their vision of 48 hours will take us over 50 hours by doing the job properly. This will haunt them more than it will us, as long as we do the job properly.

No we should all be doing the job properly but with annual hour's they will be the one's who will choose the time (day off forget it) the place (other offices) and for how long (nine, ten hours)!.NO F**KING WAY STAY STRONG STAY LONG!.

I tell you, I'll be long gone before they bring in annualised hours (most likely involving a full mail tray and a managers head  )

You are totally right, RM will be choosing the hours, the office you work at and this is what some posties do not understand. RM could work out the busiest weeks in your office over a 52 week period, you could find yourself working more hours during the busiest weeks and less hour during the slower weeks. Imagine, if one week all the full timers had to work 48 hours and there were probably 11 posties off sick or on annual leave that particular week and you had to cover for them. If you were a small office you would be really shafted because you would have more of a workload , plus you could also be asked to stay 30 minutes extra on top of your 48hrs if the work is not complete. The only way I can see annualised hours working is by asking posties whether want to do it and not forcing them to do it because not all posties will want to work annualised hours.

So Royal mail ignore minium ACAS guide lines, that fills me with joy :d'oh!
that 's hardly a surprise , always been that way but it's got markedly worse with Abbott & Costello.

Just stays on the Backburner with RM . I'm sure Billy Bunter and Frank Butcher at 150 , The Broadway , SW19 will look after us Not

The only committment the CWU (and members in the form of a yes vote) have given is to look at annulized hours and a number of other things!!

I understand this will be yet another emotive subject but lets wait and see the outcome of future negotiations before we all go mad
Now if ever there was cause for worry then that's it.

Annualised hours would be a means of trying to implement monthly pay - which I am not too adverse to, providing there is a reasonable package to introduce it.

The £400 is for implementing phase 2 and as for this year's payrise for implementing phase 3 they can shove it up their hole. FOR WE ALL DO ENOUGH ALL READY!.

If a proposal or agreement is on the table then fair enough lets have an educated debate! Just putting our own spin on things that haven't even taken place yet serves no purpose!

The negotiations will take place, the PEC will look at document and as annualized hours would be a change in terms and conditions we will get a vote. Until then nothing is concrete
That hardly fills me with confidence. Look at the vote on the Pay & Modernisation agreement.
40,000+ members didn't vote at all, and the lesson RM learned from that ballot was that if they chuck in as little as £175, enough of the remaining members will vote Yes for RM to get their proposals through. :arrrghhh

take your break, arrive on time, accept 1400hrs finish and the annualised hrs not a problem, leaving early and back early gives ammo to RM as they feel we don't have enough to do, getting back 1hr or so before time every day leaves no room for argument when covering walks for free arrives.
Exactly. This wouldn't even be on RM's radar if people were doing the job properly. How many years have we been banging our heads against the wall to accomodate early birds/the runners? Well now it's caught up with them. Trouble is it takes everyone down with them. Do you really think that RM havn't been nationally analyising all the data of PDA's seeing when people are completing early and calculating the dead hours they are paying.
Can't say we didn't warn them.

A reply to a 14 year old thread - but it could have started yesterday. Clearly RM aren't very good at introducing change - or else they roll out the same scare stories that worked before at every pay negotiation.

I've worked annualised hours.

You don't want it. End of.
