Yep, tried it, ssd, but it only offers a very short-term relief at the beginning of the allergy season. The sneezing, eye irritation, shortness of breath, and persistent runny nose all come back just as strong as ever. The pollen count becomes too high for the Vaseline option to work once the season is in full swing.ssdd wrote:I guess you've already tried it PBD, but the NHS website recommends putting vaseline around your nose to trap pollen, along with other advice. Bee pollen, herbal teas, eye drops & eye wash, nasal sprays (nasal corticosteroids, cromolyn sodium, decongestants), all sorts of prescriptions (antihistamines, oral corticosteroids), and even those long-term allergy shots (immunotherapy). The only thing that relieves the persistent heavy sneezing that I use is a nasal irrigation bottle and tube.
But even that is a short-term solution to a seasonally long nightmare.

All I can do is endure it for about three months when the pollen eventually dissipates. But thanks, anyway.
