I deliver them to residential address and business address. If I was to take only where I was going then the frame would be so full of D2Ds that I could not see the mail. So try getting 4 in a frame slot.

Sensible approach in these times, especially as I am walking more to avoid van sharing.
We were told this today also, an award winning agreement by the CWU to 'take where your going'..... something we've always done in our office especially rurals, however our managers did reiterate today that they all need to be cleared by Saturday????? So what exactly is the point!!!

Exactly Yellowbelly... that is the point that everyone seems to keep missing about d2d's, it is the unnecessary additional time spent indoors prepping them whilst in close quarters with potentially infected colleagues that is the issue.

You say that RM is paid and pays us for their delivery. Then why does it say on one of the papers Delivered FREE by Royal Mail? This paper only comes to half the delivery staff. :Boo hoo!

Some of the posties in our office shove the D2Ds into the frame (if they fit between the frame dividers), but many don't bother. They prefer to carry some D2Ds in their pouch and a separate bunch under the mail bundle.

At the opening of my comment I want thank all NHS workers and those other care workers who selflessly place themselves in danger of the Coronavirus to treat and support those in need also for the work you do year upon year. It is only when an event, on the scale we are currently suffering, that is so rare in the UK, do we as a nation on mass acknowledge, your expertise, your hard work and your generosity of care. It angers me that right now, in this moment of greatest need, that there are those who continue to abuse you. Violence towards you is an affront for which there can never be an excuse. The current spate of ID pass snatching so that the thieves can avail themselves of the possibility of the concessions made available to you, as health care worker, is an abomination for which I hope the police apprehend the culprits and they are awarded a prison sentence that is excessive.

In light of the above, hereafter which I write is by order of lower consideration, however to write nothing would be unconscionable for me given the current situation for which Royal Mail Postal Workers, of which I count myself as one, find ourselves.

I accuse, Royal Mail Limited, it’s CEO, board of directors and share holders by absence of intervention of PROFITEERING at the expense of front-line employees health and safety and quite possibly their lives and by extension the lives of their families and the lives of NHS medical staff who may have treat those thereby infected. On account of Royal Mail employees having been declared KEY WORKERS, Royal Mail has considered the situation as work as usual with limited concession in this very distressful time. At the moment the only extra equipment I and my colleagues have been offered are gloves there are no mask and no hand sanitisers.

KEY WORKERS by definition are there to provide essential services to the public. Royal Mail is well positioned to provide the essential service required in these very trying time, delivering medication, notifications about the Coronavirus pandemic and other vital necessities to our customers who are required to stay at home. Absolutely. However, on the back of KEY WORKER designation, the senior people at Royal Mail have taken the grossly negligent and callus decision that mailsort, the reduced fee service for business bulk senders that includes such items as catalogues and addressed advertising material and Door to Door items, leaflets such as pizza menus, (what most people refer to as junk mail) for companies many of which have closed and are not operating under the lock-down are such essentials. Yes, there is something seriously twisted about these avaricious individual on the board of Royal Mail, who will explain their position as having contracts to fulfil and shareholders to pay but all the time thinking of their fat bonuses, safely closeted away from the danger.

For me and my colleagues in delivery being a Key Worker is not a complaint and whilst NHS workers and care workers are so much closer to the firing line, doing our duty should be seen in contrast as the one easier done but placing us unnecessary in the path of harm for selfish pecuniary reward is to do so without conscience. Management have been telling us for a long time we are easily replaceable and this first world war, ‘Send them over the top.’ attitude is typical. One that will not easily be forgotten by the workforce. Is it our lives in their hands now or is going to be our blood on their fingers when it is too late?

I ask for the CEO’s resignation. I doubt I will get it from a man who has done nothing (ever) to encourage the workforce or show any concern personally. I also express to him and the rest of the directors, do not give your false thanks at future date. We do not want to read your insincere apologies or your imitation condolences. End the Door to Door items for the duration. Provide mask and hand sanitiser. Prioritize mail. Stop being selfish.

Postal Workers are robust but not invincible. We have families who want us to come home safe every day and they do not want our employer taking liberties with our Key Worker status to deliver junk mail at the cost of our lives. The longer we are in our units preparing this crap and the more time we are out on the street delivering it the greater our chances of contacting this dreadful virus.

I've got five lots for next week including DFS this catalogue. Manager said you will have plenty of time as the mail will drop off.
We got battered today with small and oversized packets.... Sigh.
