But don't individual resourcing areas have their own OT budget? If your manager has been a right tightwad over the year making people work for free,
not giving WTLL, lapsing, delivering failed rounds him/herself, he/she may have loads of bucks to spend just before the end of the financial year. It might hurt his/her bonus short term but at least he/she will be able to say 'Look boss, I got all the rounds delivered during the crisis, aren't I good and deserve a bonus.....'

I was thinking the same but today I was told off. They explained that sick pay has gone through the roof recently and there is no money to pay excess. Of course with one man per van rule our office failed like never before and it will continue to fail especially with next to nothing overtime being paid.

No one's going to say it out loud but with no dividend this year, the company's going to make a big profit out of this mess.

How? Marketing mail is dropping of a precipice, the international business is in serious trouble, and parcels? Major online retailers are stopping, and in the next few weeks expect the govt to close all non essential businesses, not just retail.
My DO has been told that No one is to cancel their Leave (if they want to help out) and No one is going to be allowed to work their day off (unless already authorised to do so)
It does seem conterintuitive but as the DOM explained "If loads of people cancel their leave we don't know how long this will last. When it does end RM don't want half their workforce asking for their Leave allat once"!
We're not too bad so far with sick abscence, and all duties are still being delivered (with Lapsing). Some of the DOs on here sound in a right state, I sypathise with your problems, but you can only do a days work in a day. Stick to your hours and try not to overdo it.

It was on the news today that employees of any company can carry over their annual leave for 2 years

That may well be the point SP but if you're not willing to wait those two years it'll cause a headache once this crisis is finished. I wouldn't be happy working to help out, and then being told you have that leave back in 2022!
I think a more relative point is that all Key Workers should take their rest whenever possible, as you're more likely to pick up any infection when your worn down.
