The USO obligation states that we must deliver to ALL addresses whether residential or business SIX days a week, unless the customer has requested and authorised in writing that their mail is not delivered on a certain day i.e. Saturday. We adhere to that in our office with the only exception being if there is a signed for or large item, so the mail that will go through the letterbox is delivered as normal on Saturday and the signed for or large item is held until Monday.

In our DO if a school is locked up and doesn't have a letterbox or we can't get to the letterbox then the mail is held and delivered on the Monday. We wouldn't kill that mail off.
Official Saturday rententions on our frames have a coloured sticky dot on their slot. It can be that even if a business has a letterbox that they may ask the DOM to hold their mail on Saturdays for various reasons such as amount of mail or visibility of mail inside property etc.
