What if they do? Say you cant meet their targets if your not up to it. Managers cant be arsed with most things.

The worry is if they introduce performance standards.
If they decide you haven't done sufficient work in your contracted hours.
The computer says you should have completed, why haven't you?
Exactly.

We already have to justify every bit of overtime, beg plead argue. Mention cutting off and your life will be miserable.

If the manager doesn't meet his/her targets - they will be toast.
If you don't meet your targets you will be toast.
This is the modern world.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Exactly. They just come up with ludicrous ideas as an excuse to give us more work.

Despite trolley deliveries taking longer, despite a passenger sitting in the passenger seat of a van share, doing nothing, they managed to increase duty sizes when they introduced van share.

Then they gave us PDA's and told to scan virtually every parcel and large letter, then they had us emptying postboxes, then they had us starting later and working when the roads are at their busiest, then they tell
us none of these things add time to the duty, but mail is down so here's some more streets.
And despite all of that, virtually every postie in my DO was back about an hour early today.
...And yet virtually every postie in my DO went past (well past in some cases) their finishing time or had to leave some in. The trouble with many of Royal Mail's ideas is that their proposals seem to be formulated under the erroneous belief that all DOs operate under similar conditions with respect to staffing levels/traffic volumes/workload per delivery/management, ahem, strategy/lapsing etc. This is clearly not the case.

The parcels idea seems to much like the delivery methods trials in that it doesn't sound possible to do. If RM 'push the envelope' though it is almost certainly going to result in a general strike ballot which will almost certainly go through.
RM really is in a right mess now sadly and I honestly don't see a way out.
And if we did have a YES Ballot would anything be done? The last one we had was pretty pointless IMO, apart from letting the CWU Big Wigs feel good about their level of support. My biggest worry was the Pension, and despite the promises.... and returning to work with more promises of a solution.... Bugger All has been done in effect! :arrrghhh So much for all that work for a strong YES Vote.:cuppa

The computer can say what it likes as the computer is only as good as whats been programmed on it.
They can say what they like , but my round has never been walk tested so until they do that its all bollocks.
If management can finish my round doing the job properly on time, i will go along with it but they cant, and wont test the walk anyway because they know I am right.

That will not happen as the packets will not even be in the office in the morning but if there is cut offs ie bits of walks or loops they could make you do them if they took work off you.

signatures are bollocks. With these PDA's we should be taking a photo of the person accepting items ;)
