They must have over 8,000 that's left in the last few years,
That's never been replaced

They just use agency/casuals instead in MCs. It's about time that the better casuals get offered contracts with RM

Is there any particular reason why agency and casuals are employed in MCs

All I've seen in our office are new faces in the last 6 months and not one of them are either agency or casual workers but in fact most of them are uniformed up and have temporary contracts at least for a year. As there has been only 1 guy that left for early retirement, are Royal Mail silently preparing for a mass exodus sometime in the future I wonder??

Probably cheaper for RM, they only get them in when they need them and if the work drops of early during a shift, RM can send them home
