Well I had my interview. Someone else arrived at the same time as me and I started to get worried they had double booked. I had a woman manager and there was another woman who took the other guy. So they had 2 interviews each hour, so in total interviewed about 12 people for the role. It sounded like that had more than 1 vacancy though.
There were 6 competency questions, only one I hadn't prepared for which was about how I went about changing something to make it more efficient or something along those lines but I got something from within my head and rambled on.
Then there was some questions on health and safety and then some questions checking I understood the role and accepted certain things like working Saturdays, using a PDA etc
It's very hard to know how well I did because it all depends on who you are up against. I answered everything, she probed a couple of times as each competency has 2-3 extra questions to get the answer in full and I guess to get the points.
She said I should find out in 7-10 days.

Took 12 days for me to hear. Maybe it's 7-10 working days, or maybe the system is a bit flakey, as you've already experienced! Well done for your persistence and hope you get it, or at least get on the waiting list. I do wonder if they ration how many end up on the waiting list or whether everyone who passes the interview is automatically added? I guess the latter might be a farer system, but then harder to gauge how much competition there might be subsequently.

Wow I received a call today, bearing in mind I had my interview on Thursday, saying I had passed the interview. So happy.
I just received a further email requesting more details to complete the vetting process which was just address and job history going back 5 years and name changes etc.
Thank you to everyone who has got me this far.

don't leave any gaps in your work history - it slows them down.Wakewaterblue wrote:Wow I received a call today, bearing in mind I had my interview on Thursday, saying I had passed the interview. So happy.

Update. I received a job offer after what seemed like a quick 2 week security check. I'm ex police so I have been highly vetted before, maybe they realised that I don't know!
They didn't seem to do any job references as they didn't have the details or addresses to do so?
The process has been surprisingly quick.
I know there is a sticky post on what to wear as a postie before uniform issued. Do posties tend to wear shorts all year round? I'm pretty hardcore but I don't think I will get my uniform before the winter sets in.
Also, having delivered before in a previous job, rain really hinders things and when the hands get wet, trying to write the missed you card or just function can become quite difficult without ruining post and parcels? Does anyone have any recommendations on perhaps waterproof gloves or does anyone stick a small towel in their trolley? Water resistant shorts?! I am not sure the best option on this, waterproof trousers are not quick to get on and off.
Many thanks all
