You could of course spend at least 20 minutes searching the office for lazzy bands :left:

The new system calculates tie up time based on number of double slots and delivery points. You can see tie up time per walk on the forecast iwt.

The old system was 10mins per wing so 4 wings was 40mins.

dont forget your waiting to tie up lapsing as well as putting large parcels in the van. It takes as long as it takes and I don't wear a watch

30 minute tie up? Is this for FT? Or for PT who come in to only the letters being thrown up?

Are we talking literally just to tie up? i.e pull the letters from the frame, put into bundles and put into trays/bags. NOT sort packers, redirections, load van etc?

I'm definitely slow but it doesn't take me that long.

On the other hand, I come in to a prepped frame, yet still find it takes me an hour to get out the office. I

sort packets
do kill offs
do redirections
Queue/sign for van keys, specials, box keys
Bundle up
load van
do van checks
have a s**t
put jumper/ coat on
sign out

No you can't, the frame should run from A to Z and match A+ for sequencing and it should pull out that way with each loop being marked accordingly. The frames are part of the one plan so they should be consistent up and down the country.

Some DOs are better than others for keeping their A+ reasonably up-to-date. You just need to look at the number of rejects when something like council tax or anything else that goes to most or all delivery points gets sequenced.

Like all resourcing figures the time allocated for tie down/up is only a "should take" time and not an individual performance standard and as such is completely irrelevant to us.

The longer we are inside the less we are outside doing the hard miles thats why we should all start on time and take our breaks. If it takes 40mins to tie up so be it, we all know give or take how long the walks are so if you go out late you can tell the manager you will not complete and you are either happy to be paid o/t or bring back.
