Remember the DB scheme closes on 31st March 2018.
Voting no will mean there is no agreed pension solution , Royal Mail will have a auto enrol all of us into the DC scheme.
Of course we would strike but when you recommend voting no be honest and say that your recommending a vote which means we have no agreed pension scheme at all.
which members with less than 5 years service are going to have to remain with in the interim period STILL with lower employer contributions?

We did, the Union separated it for an agreement and this is where we are. Stinks I know, but activists who voted against the agreement lost the vote and there was no way to fight the situation.gary1975 wrote: I know having a post 2008 pension is like falling over a cliffthanks guys for not fighting for pensions years ago

Oh and it make's a difference bit like voting for Lib Dem's or wet Tories or NEW LABOUR as it was! Well now don't vote for a shite future for you only get one chance at it your time and efforts in the so called business is your efforts and you should be all rewarded for those efforts into your retirement not some half baked scheme which has no regulation or chance of passing regulation into law this is a kick the can down the road solution just as the last pension scheme and pay deal was!dingo wrote:So voting no and having no pension scheme is better ?TheTrolleyMan wrote:Don't sell you're soul for a few hundred quid today at the cost of thousands off you pension !cavendish9027 wrote:Not for me. Voting no means on the 1st April 2018 anyone who joined before 2008 Pensions fall off the cliff.
That is the point I am making.
So even if we don't like it, we should vote yes just to save our s**t pension anyway? Give over.
This deal has more holes than fancy Swiss cheese.

So you ballot the membership and strike on 31ST of March and nothing gets delivered until everything is delivered and a pension scheme is agreed. Why are our so called representatives always presenting us with a skewed fait de complit

The important question still hasn't been answered, when would the back dated pay rise be paid out?

Its difficult to pin down a date as there are so many variables:cavendish9027 wrote:The important question still hasn't been answered, when would the back dated pay rise be paid out?
1. They need to wait to see if the deal is voted in.
2. They'll have to wait till the CWU officially inform them
3. They need to set up the pay rise on the payroll.
4. They need to do a "practice" pay run to ensure all the changes are stable before they run a live one.
5. They'll need to double check entitlements for recent leavers.
At a guess, this should take a week to 10 days, so my guess is we'll get it on 6 April.

A little lump of money now and you sell your future away. It's not an important question at all. The important question is "why are we being sold a lump of coal as if it's a diamond?"

A little lump sum is an important thing. I have worked for royal mail for over 9 years and I'm no closer to a full time contract than the day I started. I don't know what your circumstances are but managing a mortgage (in one of the most expensive cities in the country) and raising 2 children is far from a walk in the park on 30 hours a weekpanch1989 wrote:cavendish9027 wrote:The important question still hasn't been answered, when would the back dated pay rise be paid out?

Work Wally weeks, 5 of the 6 work 60+ hours a week to then have to work a few days of the week off to get on by, annual leave results in a huge loss of earnings. However I won't be misguided by a payrise when the rest of the agreement isn't worth the paper it's written on.
