1 on Delivery u have to delivery leaflets sometimes they are not thrown of, sometimes your mail for your job might only be partly sorted or sometimes not at all, if u are working with a full timer a lot of them expect u to be ready when they are, a lot will not help you get your job ready, just stand around moaning.

2 u may not get on with your partner if u work 2 in a van, they do a park and loop system , not all loops are equal with u being new u will be slower, a lot of partners will not help u finish just sit in the van moaning how slow u are

3 you have time restricted nail & now tracked is going over to 4 hour delivery span from when it is first scanned at delivery office.

4 not always able to have your full break or not at all, no matter what people say on here

5 out in all weather, good in summer but not winter

6 more tired, u do need to be quite fit, not all jobs are the same whatever management say, in our office alone some u can do in under 4 hours, some take over 6

7 more complaints on delivery, they complain about everything, somebody complained at ours about there being no date on a fib.

8 A’s other have said you will not finish on your hours, management do not always want to pay overtime, most offices expect u to do flex, extra 20 mins of another job which they expect u to do every day

9 that’s all I can thing of, there are some good points, some offices have single or HGT routes these are usually better, once u leave the office u are your own boss

3 - Since when has tracked had a 4 hour delivery slot?
4 - Why not?
8 - You have a finish time, you can finish on it. You can only do what you can do in the time given, lapsing should only be done if you have time in your duty. Flexing is optional. If management won't pay overtime for extra hours then put a grievance in and start cutting off!
3 at our office we now have to deliver tracked in a 4 hour window supposed to be going nationwide.
Lol I was looking forward to your response about number 4.
Need a backbone if you ‘can’t always take a break’

I'm afraid to confirm all the stuff woody38 is true. Regarding number 4 and the recommendation to get a backbone it isn't as easy as that. There is an awful lot of **** happening around that end of things ATM and it really isn't easy to solve. Worst case scenario you can be thrown out of RM. Regarding the four hour window for tracked that is running now but it is a feasability study. Customers will be given times for expected delivery but if they ask you or complain about lateness it is just a testing phase. As I have written elsewhere a four hour window sounds naff so don't be surprised if the idea gets approved but as a two or worst case scenario a one hour window. God help us if they say one hour!!!

Not all offices work the same, here are some examples that I or orther people have told me about that make it very hard to have a break
1 P/t starts at 8.30, F/t who u are working with wants there break at 9.00am, no good to u, you only started 30 mins ago

2 u want your break at 12.30pm, other person wants to work on and finish, they are driving u end up eating your lunch while they are driving from one loop to another

Like I said previously not all offices are the same, some can be quite intimidating places with week management who would rather walk alway rather than confront anybody, even issues with breaks. In less u work in these places whatever u thing you would do in normal situation can change, some places can be very hard work with week managers and staff who they are scared of.

I have seen a job for delivery near where I live and am thinking of applying. I currently work in a Mail Centre in processing but the contract will be 20 hours - the same I'm on now.

Do you think its a good move or should I stick with processing?

Thanks for any thoughts..... :Very Happy
