You obviously do not understand how knocking 1 hour off of a full timers hours benefits you by increasing your hourly rate of pay. So here is the answer.kev321 wrote:So full timers once again get reduced working hours and all of the benefits whilst part timers get screwed again. Thanks but no thanks.
Full timer currently working 39 hours at say £10 per hour would get £390 per week
If he then drops down to 38 hours for the same pay of £390 his hourly rate increases to £10.26p per hour.
So as a part timer if you are on 25 hour contract currently at £10 per hour you get £250
Your rate of pay will increase to £10.26p per hour so your weekly pay will increase to £256.50p per week and any overtime you do up to 38 hours will also be paid at £10.26p per hour.
So how is that only benefiting full timers and screwing part timers? Please comment.

And I'd like to be full time rather than being part time doing a job which (according to the latest revision) is 15-20 minutes over alloted delivery time. I note that they are very quick to make adjustments in their favour whilst ignoring my issue for nearly two years.A2B wrote:I'd rather have a little extra in my wages than a few minutes off a daykev321 wrote:So full timers once again get reduced working hours and all of the benefits whilst part timers get screwed again. What exactly is your issue? You don't want to go over your delivery span ?kev321 wrote:A2B wrote:I'd rather have a little extra in my wages than a few minutes off a daykev321 wrote:So full timers once again get reduced working hours and all of the benefits whilst part timers get screwed again. My point is that full timers work an hour less (again) and also get the pay rise whilst part timers only get the pay rise.

Oh I don't go over, in fact I'm rather infamous for making a point of not going over. Every day is a constant battle over my delivery, I've alienated most managers with my stance and the union is quite frankly useless. I'm not some newbie either, I've been at RM for over 12 years.nudenut wrote:What exactly is your issue? That is the daftest reply I have ever seen. If you were given an hour less work you would still be earning £10.26p per hour, the same rate as a full timer.
The main argument for part timers is that if they regularly do overtime they do not get this when they are off sick or on holiday. I can fully support their frustrations at this, but if you were to work 38 hours a week you would be paid exactly the same as a full timer.

The rise in part-time pay due to the shorter working week is entirely separate to any negotiated pay rise, Parr-time staff in effect get two pay rises where full-time staff only get one.My point is that full timers work an hour less (again) and also get the pay rise whilst part timers only get the pay rise.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
