I think the CWU should have acted a few years ago before privatisation, but I guess they were happy with a few free shares, instead of looking at the bigger picture. If they stopped privatisation we wouldn't be in this mess.
Also I heard from a Union Rep if we strike, the proposed new Sickness scheme will come back into play (No sick pay for first 3 days of any sickness), as currently RM have offered to keep this the same as it is currently, if no industrial action.
I think RM & CWU need to list out all the Pros and Cons, currently I feel it is becoming Petty and childish bickering.

No because if it's a case of bullying then there is a lot of national guidelines that can be used that apply to generic workplaces not anything put in place by the union. Anyone else exists without major union involvement just fine.wannabeek wrote:Huh? You deal with it yourself? Meaning you point to an agreement which says you cannot be treated that way - an agreement hard fought for by members of the union.
Please tell me I'm wrong, because that's what it sounds like.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Food for thought? What does it matter? People make their own minds up, what's right in their own mind. Everyone should stick together yes, but for whatever reason some people vote no. They're no different, they just have a different opinion than you so you call them "strike breakers". Get a grip. I bet you're one of these "i've been here 20 years so i'm entitled" people that use the union to get you out of your daily f**k ups like the majority of people in my DO do.LaggyBand wrote:What's better / worse?

Here's food for thought, what about the people on s**t hours who can't afford to strike? What's better therer? They lose out on 2 days pay and suffer for it or go in a bite the bullet and get called a "scab" by people like you?

The pension argument is only relevant to people pre 2008 anyone who joined after, their pensions won't change they'll still end up with beans. Other issues pay rise, sick pay, working hours etc are relevent to everyone.
I voted YES because I'm aware cost of living is rising faster than earnings unless you're a certain Canadian.

So what your saying is break a strike and the mugs on the picket line will get you a better standard of living while they suffer a few days lost pay. while those who break a picket line will get a few days extra pay but gain same benefits as those on strike. now you are wondering why some people get called certain namessmok3y666 wrote:Food for thought? You've reacted in a very hostile way and made a lot of assumptions about me. I was simply asking for people's stance on these two theoretical posties. One that is in the union, but does not support a strike, and one that is not in the union, but does support a strike.
I made no judgement on either. You messed up, really. That's easily determinable by anyone upon examination of the text.
