Just a reminder that Bristol Mail Centre was the first along with the Bristol Branch of the CWU to recommend a No Vote!

I think you will find that delivery staff are by far the highest % of eligible voters, so i dont think mc staff swayed, i work in an mc and i voted no, but it is true that people in mcs think it doesnt concern them, well there in for a big shock cos they will be doing walks of that im sure, i tried telling people about this and they just laughed, at least il have the chance to say i told you so and i will take my chance whilst pissing myself laughing, poor c**ts :Boo hoo! :Boo hoo!
Whatever the voting pattern MC's are probably in for a big shock. If the commercialisation of this industry follows the pattern established in others then the business will be destructured. obvious prime targets are MC's and network delivery, clearly defined roles, less labour intensive than delivery and in the case of MC's ripe for the introduction of labour saving tech improvements. With cost apportionment done on a whim these two sectors
could prove very profitable especially as delivery costs are driven down. Brace yourselves for sell offs/competetive tendering, if I was out to make a fast buck I'd have the plans drawn up already.

DO's and MC's strike to support network? Can't see it. Network strike alone, just hire contractors.
DO's strike to support MC's? You know how it goes
I totally agree with you Belial, MC will be in for a big shock because of the implementation of new machinery within the MCs (e.g. iLSM, Flat Sorting machine and walk seqencing) by 2009-2011. MC will be totally mechianised and this is where jobs are going to go. The delivery staff job are more secure than the mc centre staff.

Belail is right , there's been a Propaganda plant on Hellfail talking of getting rid of drivers by fair or most probably foul means and putting work on the railways . The other thing planned is to use Agency Drivers , no union , no sick pay , no nothing for RM .

There will be a push to streamline MC's and go for a Dutch style system - "It will & it must be 60/40% "

The other way is to mothball and run down MC's and as they are on leases , lease out space or even give the competition some access knowing Crozier.

Leighton will come back and he'll firstly want rid of his middle management for a three layer Walmart System & bring in Team Leaders & appraisals with managers having to reapply for thier own jobs again. He's previously conceded to Unite but that's only because he needed them onside for the strikes he's deliberately orchestrated . He'll want something for the pay rises & bonuses so it's Team Leaders and probably just a few mech managers . There'll only be skeleton full time staff for machines . Earlies will go , most certainly twilights and many lates , most work will be on nights .

The usual trick is to pay Managers up to get them off the books then bring them back as consultants , using these parasites usually means you can't manage or want to get rid of other people , and they of course will say yes to everything.

The MC/DC managers will be under terrific pressure from Area & Senior and every opportunity will be used to impress. Union Involvement will be, We'll impose this anyway and Wimbledon won't make too much fuss .

You get nothing for nothing and there'll be a lot of people who voted yes squaking to the union . God help anyone on rehab, long term sick or DDA .

PMC are already doing a poll asking people if they are likely to leave the PO in the future .

You make up all this tosh as you go along Norbet. If any of your predictions had been right, we'd be all out on strike again. What total crap.

Well obviously of course !--RM's Board & Senior Management are fine upstanding people with great integrity and the highest morality and have the welfare of a once proud service at heart .LOL

Most of this "tosh " has been in RM's plans for 2009 , some of it has been used in propaganda and WTL's .

RM will be back with the so-called predictions ,just on the backburner ; only in 2006 , RM wanted a revised attendance procedure and team working in DC's , little trifling matter of a strike ballot discouraged RM .

The difference now is that there will be a weakened union , members will rely too heavily on Area & Unit reps so it'll be easier to railroad things through . As for a strike, will you get one ?or be able to organize one , after Billy 10 Bellies and Dave I'll get you £400 marched thier members up the hill for apparently nothing .

Also if L&C wish to save money and want a more deferent & obiedient workforce to quote your DGS what better way to do it ?. Try thinking about why RM want these things .

Plenty of people on here are talking about the shafting we'll get . .There's also plenty of people who've come from privatised utilities and are well qualified to speak from bitter experience .

Alan Leighton & Crozier in charge of a public service is like having a cat in charge of pigeons . Just one idea slash & burn , there's ways & means with these people , just later instead of sooner .

We have around 1,200 cwu members in Bristol Mail Centre and around 8,000 cwu members in Delivery Offices through-out the branch area.

How can 1,200 people sway the vote?

In our MC, pensions were/are a big problem and so is flexibility.

In DO`s, i believe it was D2D and flexibility that got the back up.

How many times must you be told? Dont listen to rumours or Royal Mail propaganda! :arrrghhh

Ive worked in a DO a MC and i fight for all people in this job that are CWU members.. So to blame one function or type of worker in this service of ours is wrong.... I dont want to post on this anymore and i never did but i want my say... (big gob) But its not good for all of us in the long run... My office was staunch against the deal and it still is... ITS A MC....

I feel the PEC and HQ Stuffed us up...

We now have to carry the fight forward best way we can... Work to our 318's. DONT CUT THE JOB UP..Where ever you work..

Lets not have in fighting.....

The only ones that win are the screws in your offices and these two numptys.. :cfo :lfo

I dont want them to beat us or win anything...

NEVER LET THE BASTARDS GRIND US DOWN!!!! :speak to the hand

I might have inferred that the MC were responsible for the yes vote but I think it was just a bit of anger on my part  (and for any of you MC staff out there I apologise for that). :wave :Very Happy
