I sent Angard an email asking along those lines and was told "As you will be aware Angard Staffing do not offer a set hours contract, we only offer a zero hour contract. Of course we will endeavour to give you as many shifts as we have available depending on the client requirements and your flexibility. "
From what I've read elsewhere on here, the Christmas Casual staff are employed by Royal Mail on a fixed term contract with set hours. If additional staff are needed over and above that, they ask Angard accordingly. In other words, stick with Angard and you're on a zero hour contract with no guaranteed hours over Christmas.
Given the lack of shifts I had during my time with Angard, I don't fancy my chances and have no confidence in them whatsoever.

Down our way Angard aren’t booking any of us until they know how many casuals they can muster. At £9.30 they are much cheaper than us

Last Christmas where I work RM casuals were getting shifts cancelled or being sent home early on some shifts so no guarantee of hours with RM either. The shifts where they were sent home early Angard staff carried on working. From what I've read elsewhere on here, the Christmas Casual staff are employed by Royal Mail on a fixed term contract with set hours.

I suppose there are risks on both sides of the fence then. When I worked nightshifts last year our hours were 22:00 to 06:00. This changed after about 2 shifts to 23:00 - 06:00 for the whole of December. The only shift we ever had cancelled was the 23rd (our last shift) and this was only due to adverse weather conditions.
