polling cards nightmare...
We've been told ours are due tomorrow - so I'll be cutting off and the so-called managers can sort it.
Then again, we were told on Tuesday that they were coming on Wednesday!
Then again, about 10% came in on Thursday as they are a separate council area - and management thought they'd all come in!
Then again, we were told on Thursday that they were coming today!

you are allowed to claim extended if the normal workload takes you over your time1exprinter wrote:Hi , Much the same happen in my office.....No overtime, because we are being paid for them...but we are not allowed to claim extented at all!!,,,,,I've gone over about 9 hours this week if you include the lunch breaks not taken....all they say is your not going fast enough.....WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT THIS BULLYING!.
Did you follow the correct cutting off procedure today and inform your dom you would be over before going out on delivery? or as soon as you knew after you left?

Do you get paid for the poll cards that are in your lapse?steveoooo1 wrote:Not in our office. we lapse no matter what...daveyeff wrote:?? how was lapsing on? if you were going over with the polling cards lapsing should have been cancelled full stop.steveoooo1 wrote:We had the same, had to double lapse aswell.
The cwu really need to clamp down on this and get it set it stone. Far too many people are getting bullied, and don't know the agreement. There's too much wiggle room for the management.

Normally I go in at 8.30 on a Saturday, but decided on my start time of 9.30 and cutting off. Anyone else decided to do similar?

tried to ask you this before but didn't get an answer, are you following the correct cutting off procedure? are you telling you dom before you go out that you can't complete? or calling him after you leave as soon as you know you can't complete?

Our line manager threatened that if anyone cut off at all that they would be put on a different walk or even sent to another office to work.he said that this even applied to people that had signed for their walks.

There is nothing they can do if you cut off and work the hours on your contracthellpop wrote:Our line manager threatened that if anyone cut off at all that they would be put on a different walk or even sent to another office to work.he said that this even applied to people that had signed for their walks.
As long as you have told them before leaving the office you wont be doing extended they cant make you work over your time.

I got told the same, that I had to choose between my 2.5 hours overtime or 819x poll card payment.
I was on an unfamiliar walk with lots of firms so I had no chance of being done on time.
Just think, some people on good walks will have finished at a reasonable time AND get their poll card payment getting paid the same as me who was still at work at 5.30.
After reading this post though I am glad its not just me being suckered.

in that case has anyone said to him why he won't pay overtime when he has specifically given permission to claim it before going out?chillout1571 wrote:Yeah, following correct procedure.zx135 wrote:chillout1571 wrote:Normally I go in at 8.30 on a Saturday, but decided on my start time of 9.30 and cutting off. in our office nobody knows what you get paid per item or how they going to work out what your count for polling cards and another addressed item
, he also told 1 section if you don't take them all you wont get paid for any , he also told a few you cant cut off
you use to get 3 days for all this s**t and there was no arguments about o/t , but they are now saying 1 day and using this to get work done for nowt in my opinion and what are cwu doing about it ?
