The screws came round today and told us that everyone has to go on the IPS for the full hour(usually 1 hour 10) from Monday.
I was told that as I don't normally do the full sorting as my walk is so long that I will have to claim overtime every day.
I was not given any choice in the matter and do not really want to spend all afternoon out on delivery as it is bad for your health and is effectively taking someone else's job away.
The money you get for O/T is crap and I think I would be better off just cutting off.

well they actually want to have most people part time...when the walk sequencing comes in the plan is to have 1 postie throwing off 2 walks delivering 1 and say mrs X who wants a few hours a week can come in and do a couple of bags sfter she has dropped the kids off at school...that way they will save a fortune on NI contributions pension holiday and sick pay etc

In our office there are 29 of us doing rurals . 15 are PT 5 are bag carriers only that leaves 9 FT , 3 of which dont sort at all because of the distance they have to drive and so are allowed out early without sorting so there are 6 Ft left to sort at 6am but they dont they just prep their mech until the FT lot arrive .

There are going to be those who get away with murder, if you don't like it, do what he does - mimic his every move. If the supervisor then checks you without checking him tell him you are going for an harassment case as you feel you are being treated unfairly. Do it now! They don't want any aggro before the vote - have you noticed how people are being allowed to go early?
I mentioned to a manager just today how short of sorters we are - I sorted small packets then large packets from 0500 until 10.00 and there was still two full yorks left and the large packet deliveries would have taken an army to shift - his reply "I know - what can you do". Well I know what I'd do but he's the manager not me.
