Busiest day ive experienced today

We will all be working until 18:00 when they put our start times forward for this one wave malarkey

Been a postman for 3 years now, today was the busiest ive ever had it. Parcels through the roof, virgin media for almost every house, and then to go along with stupid amount of catalogs we currently have, national trust!

Went 4.5 hours over my finish time, should get paid of course, but i didnt sign up for this

You posted this at 16:50 , which at 4.5 hours over finishing time would make your normal finish 12:20?

I am on a tiny contract and rely on overtime. It should be 1pm finish but i come in at a pre arranged 1 hour early which moves it to 12

I see - but assuming you have a full delivery of 4.5 hours allocated that would mean you getting out very early indeed to have any hope of achieving it.
Mind you each office seems to have their own way of doing things.

There are now rules for how long we can be out after dark so I would love to see them try

Can you point me in the direction of these new rules as I am sure everyone would be very interested.

A manager told me few days ago that a town can only be out after dark an hour and a rural 45 minutes but no idea if that's the correct amount of time as my memory is awful just a guess.
I'll have a dig to see if it's wrote down anywhere

One postman worked til half past 6 yesterday cos his partner cut off with 3 loops to go.

NO I think you mean he wanted the overtime or he could have finished on time himself along with his partner.
