I think what we are finding on here is that there are numerous situations througohut the country. It seems from my career in RM that the most militant offices managed to retain the most priviledges and the most compliant lost theirs, but in general delivered better performance.

I think the point here is, that in the space of a few short years we have moved from delivering 1st thing in the morning, to the middle of the afternoon, if the heat is uncomfortable now, in October, what will it be like in the summer months? Only one answer as far as I'm concerned, totally unbearable!! It is also a fact that government ministers are constantly advising us to spend the least time possible in the Sun, with issues such as skin cancer etc, so what do RM do? send us out to deliver at a time of day when from starting delivery it is only going to get hotter. I am convinced that sick levels will increase in summer with members going down with heat stroke./exhaustion.
The thing is,you're not really gonna have an argument about the SUN thing.
I have been 1-45 finishes for years i am now 2-00,down in Lon we are most of us on 5-45/6-00 starts and have been for years.
The business will tell you that,and it's not as if there has been an epidemic of posties dropping like flies in the smoke.
Although in the summer i am seriously shagged when it is hot,and it gets hotter down here than in the rest of the country.

Accept what you're saying, but your comment about being shagged I believe proves my point, in a world where skin cancer is on the increase, we are being asked to deliver in the hottest part of the day, and irrespective of who has been doing late starts and for how long, it doesn't make it right! Should never have been allowed to happen in any part of the country.
