However, if after months of negotiating, this is the negotiated deal as agreed by the leadership, a No vote merely indicates our absolute disgust of the deal and their inability to do better.

It doesn't bring us any closer to a negotiated settlement and indeed if having negotiated this openly and whatever other agreements in the offing privately, such as the pension, there isn't any likelihood of a better deal even, IMO, we take further IA.

The response to IA throughout has been brilliant but I think it is a bridge too far to ask the membership to instigate confrontation with a leadership that has clearly no stomach for it.
I agree ,and unless we are willing to be negotiated back to the bloody Dark Ages ,there is only one logical conclusion any thinking person could arrive at

IWW Fellow Worker wrote:What a laugh! This, from a man who 'works' in a big palace in London surrounded by guards dressed in daft uniforms dating back to Tudor times, where the lad in charge of the debate wears a frock coat and stockings, where some bloke bangs the door with a black rod, and they slam the door on him because that's what happened to King Charles the Headless, so it's traditional. The whole procedure is carried out according to rules set down by a man who died about 130 years ago, and this dick has the nerve to tell us to modernise!

Everyone should persuade all fellow workers to reject this sham of a deal, but I don,t see Anyone rushing to take IA this time around simply cos we all feel shafted after this crap deal was thrashed out over so many weeks, and to point out we are the Union so we decide if the deal is for us not anyone on the PEC or otherwise, and I say NO to this cack...

That's one view, and a reasonable one too (1-2 1-2 sound like a roadie!!). I think a no vote would re-enforce our position. We voted with very large numbers in favour of IA against the deal on offer. To vote "NO" again sends an even bigger signal to our PEC and Abbot & Costello (and Brown and his toadies) that we won't tolerate this nonesense. What we have to realise, and make sure our colleagues realise, is that if we stay determined to get a reasonable solution to all this, the powers that be can't do a damn thing about it. The PEC (whatever you may think of them) is obviously tired after a long fight. It's up to us to make sure they have the power to finish it off and win. Only a no vote now gives us any chance of a successful conclusion.

As an aside, Brown isn't in a good position politically at all. Last thing he needs is us going walkies at Xmas against the insane ideas of overpayed public servants he supports, and, as we've found, a lot of the people we deliver to don't. Keep the pressure on now - we've nothing more to lose!

Ministers would recomend we accept the deal, Labour MPs now sit in ivory towers and are totaly out of touch with what working people need or want they have become the businessmans friend and are far too busy trying to keep business happy to be bothered about ten a penny workers, the worst part for me is we had Croziers b**ls in a vice and a big bat in the hand, and we let him off, it has taken us months to get to that position, by allowing RM to make change at local level it has let them do what they were doing before, and pick off areas and offices one by one, thanks once again for leaving us on our own and fight our own corners...UNITY IS STRENGTH.

Realistically yes, but we need to spread the word in all our workplaces about what the deal REALLY means. There are many who are sheeplike and go with the flow. The ditherers can make the difference! :Applause
